I was thinking at the last torney, Can I get 1 barrell kit and use it with any marker, Yes I know every marker has different threads, Is there such a thing as barrel adaptors so i can use any barrel kit on any marker.

you would be able to get a machinist to make you one.......what sort of marker do you own as a lot of them take cocker threads....

Cyborg is a Cocker thread.......you would need an adapter for the Ion, not sure what thread Tippmans.

Adaptors have a bit of a bad name, there are a bunch of ppl that make them but they all seem to have breakage issues (Balls that is)

make sure you get a spanner / hex machined on - being small it'd be hard to get off - especially once its cold from firing =)

So almost better to but get a different barrel bit for the markers, Most likly cost the same price to make the adaptor then to buy the barrell, Save the trouble

I once had an adaptor to make a Dye Stainless with a Spyder thread fit onto a Tippmann. They are available if you ring/shop around.
A 14" barrel is NOT good for a M98, trust me, after that little experiment I know:yes:

May i suggest buying a full freak kit with tip and then buying the rear back's for all your makers. Cocker , impulse and puke>> tipman.

This sounds like the best option, gettting freak backs for all markers and swap front

Freaks are good, but you can't beat a good one peice.

A freak will change the bore of the barrel, but only for about the first 4-5 inches, after that, it just goes back to normal and is effected by any other factor

Is 18" the biggest front I can get?, because freaks kits only go up to 16"

No it uses a different thread... the Smartparts uses a much finer thread.

I have a 14" Stifi tip ( carbon fibre) from Premium PB (http://www.ppba.com.au/) and an All American 16" tip Actionpb (http://www.paintballshop.com.au/shop.php).

I am sure all the people you ask..like I did here and OS ..that you will not get more accurancy or range from an 18" > 16" seems to the go.

i got a dye ultralight 12"... its accurate as... any longer than 14 and youll have some serious issues with playing tight to a barricade i reckon... but i play up front so thats a little more critical for me

I was thinking that i could buy one kit and use it for both woodsball and torny, the longer ones for woods 16" and the shorther 14" for torney, for different markers

only trouble with barrel adaptors is they cancel out any advantages of say a freak set as the adaptor can only be one size , in other words they will only work with the same size barrel/freak insert eg adaptoer 0.689 insert to fit balls 0.691 insert is to tight so you may get ball breakage

I was able to see one being uped at the last sappa, on a tippy, that was a spyder barrel with anadaptor for a tippy 98, that worked out fine

There wasnt much diff in range, from stock tippy to the 14",
