So obviously the electronic spews paint faster right ?

but i want a marker that i can tourney and rec with, i am worried that an e-marker will get wet/ banged around in recball.. how sturdy are they? is there a gun that would be good for both? or am i stuck with havin to shell out for 2 guns?

there's no limitation on what you take into the tourneys..... you'll just be laughed at.... you can buy a tippman 98 for dirt cheap, they are rugged as all hell, they would cover you're rec..... then with all the money left over.... buy something decent for tourneys...... or vice versa, you just gotta know what you're playing more... and how much you're planning on spending.....

welcome to an expensive sport

Get an electro for sure !
Now all is left is deciting what ration ofr Rec - Tourney you will be playing...

If it's more one than other, make your choice from that.

In saying that ANY Electro will be fine for Recball stuff, but the same can not be said for the Mech's.

What would be a good choice is an Ion, they are cheap and can double as a tourney marker if you are starting out.
You can upgrade them to the point that they are pretty competitive, some teams in the USA even do their own versions of them and from what Ive heard, use them in top level competitions.
Also give macdev a ring, they have the 05 model cyborgs at a very good price, and they will definately do you for tourneys.....
As far as being used as a rec gun, should be ok, check with your local field operator though as you will have superior firepower to their rental players.....and for obvious reasons that isnt good for business.

I use an ion for rec and tourny, works out the same to me. I don't really see a need to buy two markers, its not like ur going to be digging a trench out with your barrel

ion is cheap and good for amerture tourny and there is a thing coming out for it from spec ops, its like a new body kit that with a rail for a scope and a place so u can put on a stock adn stuff.

Even "fun/rec days in Spec Ops at Samford  or other similar scenario based days and or gigs  your gonna mix it with it with electros. And if your not gonna hide and play sniper then go electro. But if your concerned on paint consumption or you live with the philosophy of accuracy by shot not by volume then go mechanical...

I have an electo and its been in the rain, played at night in fog and hammered lots of paint on those hot summer days. Just "maintain" what ever you decide on and it will all be good.

you can use any gun for both, but your better buying one for tourneys as you can use anything on the rec field, you just don't look the part in the bush
