View Full Version : Importing parts (hopper, Air)
are you able to import parts for a marker with out having to have any licenses ?
are parts like hoppers and air bottles able to be purchased on ebay with no probs from police or customs ? or can only dealers import them. would like to buy a marker in australia and buy gear like hopper and air system from the states on Ebay. would there be any probs with this ?
cheers
Wade
I believe you still need to get the appropriate forms to at least import the hopper, i think by definition it is classed as a "magazine" as it holds the paint which is "ammo"
Air....im not so sure, but just be aware all the overseas brands may not carry the appropriate workcover approved information required these days
Might be safer to buy local
id much rather buy local but the prices on ebay are so cheap ! even when converted in aus dollars they are WAY cheaper !
there are the same brands (evo) but just cheap as hell....
Hoppers, Paintballs, Marker parts WILL need a B709A import permit, free from your local State police department with a valid licence. Air bottles are somewhat a touchy subject to be on the safe side i would just get one here.

Like you never asked any stupid questions when you started Rainman.....
Not that this is a stupid question Wade.
You'd be crazy not to want to save as much money as you can when playing paintball but there's a few things you need to keep in mind.
1/ A bottle bought from overseas will not be Aust. Workcover approved. So you'll be pressed finding anyone that will fill them, due to the large, ($75,000) fine that they're liable to be slapped with. (Even if Workcover are only called due to someone's "duty of care".....)
2/ Paint shipped from overseas may not reach you in the best condition. Paint needs to be kept in a stable temp, with no humidity and with no rough handling. Action Paintball imports paint by the container load that is sealed and climatically controlled, so it reaches us fresh and ready to be splattered across your goggles.
3/ All the filling out of B709a's is a hassle when you can just ring Action. They'll take your order and pretty much have it out the door on it's way to you the next day, as they have pretty much everything in stock.
4/ Ebay is full of scammers. Don't risk it.
5/ Support Australian business!
ah ok...didnt know that there were fines involved. ive got masks from ebay and that worked out awsome. i know theres some scams on ebay but i would only buy from an ebay store.
would buy my marker localy coz i wouldnt wanna risk that much $$ on ebay but would of liked to buy parts from the states.
its just the really cheap price tag that got me thinking....
