hey guys,
recently bought a second hand but great condition, luxfer HPA bottle for my A5, took it out for a run yesterday but can't get the velocity over 250/260... when i run co2 i get 280/290... have tried 2 different regs (one is stamped 800psi output and the other i'm assured is high pressure) running through a remote line (tried 2 different remotes with no difference) pulled the marker apart and cleaned it (again) but can't get the velocity up on HPA... any suggestions??

marker has Tech T "speed kit" so vented QEPH, zero kick hammer, red hot power tube, lightning rod, etc etc ...

i haven't replaced the main drive spring (marker is 2-3yrs old) but thinking it may be time for a rebuild kit??

Some A5's with the Zero kick hammer had velocity issues. They revised the kit to contain a stronger drive spring. If you email TechT, they'll most probably send you out the spring to replace it. Either that or you may need the new updated valve for HPA. Contact Tippmann for that one. They may send you one out free of charge.

I have noticed that A5s enjoy lube........ and good springs and o rings. make sure they are all in order. Im not a fan of the vented housing of the cyclone........ they are troublemakers. thats my opinion. and I will never have one on an a5 ever again.

I have a QEPH on mine and have never had an issue with it.

thanx headshotz...i'll email TechT now...any ideas on what tippmann would charge for the updated valve...

DWI, i have always looked after my marker with lube and o-rings, haven't replaced the spring because i've never had the issue with velocity before...but cheers for the input.

Well I know guys from the States who have had issues with their A5, called Tippmann up and told them what was going on with their marker, and Tippmann shipped them out parts free of charge.

It's not the whole valve that I think you need. Just the valve body. All the internals from your current valve will be fine. The newer valve body has 2 extra channels milled down the length of the unit. If I could be bothered pulling my A5 apart at 1am I would show you the difference between the 2. But as I said, it's 1am. They did this to allow more air to flow through the valve under the lower pressure HPA (800-850psi) as opposed to CO2 (1100-1200psi).

I just had a heap of problems with my qeph! My A5's didnt acccept it one bit! I tried it on 3, An A5 with RT and zero kick, I tried it on an RT A5 and a stocko A5, and it just caused coniptions. Me n Wil71m did it, and I pulled my cyclones apart maybe 7 or 77 times putting it on different gats and checking and re checking. I hated it. thats just my opinion, and maybe I just put it in wrong, or maybe I just got a bad one. but installing it in a few markers, and different configs it should have worked in at least 1.

hey Jesse
Im pretty sure they are more interested in the reg on the bottle rather than the tank its self. But never the less the tank is a luxfur 68/4500 and the reg is a myth 1 with high pressure output spring and retainer fitted. Just incase you were not sure. I know it works because my geo needed and 800 psi tank to function and it worked a treat. I also used it on my a5 and never had any issue with volocity. Hopefully you figure it out. Have you tryed using the standard powertube? Oli and Fin both had issues with the red hot power tube. Also have you tryed it on another a5 to see if works on that?

Hey Marco,
haven't tried it with standard power tube, but i've never had an issue like this before... my a5 ran fine on HPA at gords and mango hill... pretty sure i tried it on a field marker on sunday and still had velocity issues... but i've tried 2 regs and 2 remote lines as well???

I am waiting for the arrival of the new springs from TechT, and possibly new valve from Tippmann...will see how it goes when i give the marker a serious refurb...

still waiting for the spring to arrive. got nothing helpful back from Tippmann as yet, they want me to get the output pressure tested on the bottle, any idea where to get this done in brisbane??
