2XS will also be looking to run an X-Ball tourny series in addition to a national 7-Man, can all interested teams who are registered members of SAPPA please PM or Email me your votes for the SA X-Ball team.
Info needed is Your teams name, any suggested names for the State team and suggested players 1-10 including a captain with an 11th player as coach/reserve. Remebering that X-ball will be a fast paced game and the team you suggest should be made up of players who will suit this new style of play. Cut off dates for nominations will be the end of March and I will post results shortly after.
Cheers

other states may nominate and I will start organising those votes for the moment but the 2XS series will look to appointing a spokesperson in each state so that each state can look after its own players selection rather than having some South Oz boy organising their team

for all intersested parties who want to see X-ball in play the newly selected SA team will have an open day of training hopefully before the next SAPPA round so that the SA team can nut out positions and so forth
Any news on this of late? Who has been selected on the team?

Who is doing the selection? I think I should.......seeing as though I'm too old, fat and unfit to play X-Ball, I think that qualifies me as a perfect selector.......isn't that how it works in most other sports?
At round 1 teams recived a x-ball selection sheet to fill out which players they wanted to represent SA in the team.

Now before I start, I have no vested interest in this other than general interest as a SAPPA Committee member and paintball freak, so don't get snitchy or your knickers in a twist over what I'm about to ask.......
These are not loaded questions that I already know the answer too!......
is that enough of a disclaimer????? ;)
How many votes did we receive from the teams? Were all teams given the opportunity to vote? If yes, what sort of response did it (the voting process) get?
How will the performance of the team players be evaluated and new players incorporated in the team if required?
Is the governing body for this the same as 2XS or is this another thing all together????
Cheers

:D great disclaimer dude you do have to be careful now days!
The members as a whole were given two months to get their votes in,feedback was not awesome but sufficient to make get a team list. if there is any new input it will be archived so as to give a good understanding of any new players that should be considered, currently the SAPPA committee will be the governing body of the X-ball team and yes pending bad performance they will address any issues with replacement or training requiems.
well I hope the SAPPA committee is not going to spend the SAPPA $s on something that is for a select few of which many had no idea was going on.

:D WOW :D
Didn't even know many people knew my name outside my team mates, even then it's a stretch for them. :o
So to get nominated for vice captain for the X-Ball series is quite an honour. However i'll have to post my decline.
As much as i would love to follow Andy screaming into the fray i have too many commitments here in Adel. Also, just being new on the SAPPA committee i would like to put 100% effort into that. I wish the rest of the guys the best of luck and hope they can represent S.A.
Thanks again, see you on the field.

hmm how were members notified of this blacky ? I have not been told and if it wasn't for the internet I still wouldn't know ? It seem the main votes u got were from comittee member and the colleges they advised but shouldn't it be posted to each member ? If the Sappa is not putting towards it then I guess it doesn't really matter though as it is still a state team just not sappa member sanctioned. I am sure no matter who gets picked there are still people who would disagree but I would have liked to have known so I could have put in my 2c worth.

now thats a man dedicated to the job.
I guess Schatts its the same as how SAPPA members get notified about everything!!!
As Adamage said good luck to the team but again I hope they dont attempt to use SAPPA funds generated from the greater membership as well as its a 2XS event.

I think there must be a secret society running the SA paintball community or something, first I heard of it. Maybe we need to learn the secret hand shake ?

maybe Robbie has been left out of the circle. Not doing enough favours.
Ethan seems a "little excited" at the thought of "special favours" dont you think?
Anyway, you dont get a vote unless you got a drop forward!
All of Victorians votes are by email...........
Hope you guys sort it out?

I am aware that a nomination form was distributed, however there was no real announcement made that it had been put in every teams playing area, coupled with the fact that the worst possible time to hand out paperwork of any kind is after lunch on the 2nd day of a tournament.........
Perhaps it would be better to enclose a nomination form in the upcoming SAPPA newsletter??? Just a thought.

Better start posting. Guess we need another vote considering that half of the committee and most of the players didnt know about it.

I am not sure Wade if the SAPPA distribution list should be used. Its held under the privacy act by the SAPPA and not 2XS (a profit making venture).
Also is SAPPA members being asked to nominate because there is some desire to use SAPPA funds for the team, this has not been made clear?
Surely that is not the case & the SAPPA funds, whatever they are, will be used on SAPPA infrastructure, promoting & improving SAPPA tournaments, and/or be used to make SAPPA rounds cheaper i.e reduced rego fees for members.
Things like SAPPA insurance, membership lists, funds & equipment (ie armbands, ref shirts, chron (if they have been paid for by SAPPA) need to be used for SAPPA events only.

I hear you JJJ - SAPPA funds will be spent soley on SAPPA tournaments, you know how I feel about this issue. If ever I see otherwise, the Member's will be the first to know.
Only reason I suggested the mailout was simply logistical. We've got a member's newsletter and feedback form about to be posted to all members, so I thought considering the interest there seems to be, it would give all interested parties an opportunity to be involved.
The SAPPA database is not for the use of other organisations, whether they be commercial or not for profit. Membership lists especially are protected by the Privacy Act and SAPPA would actually be breaching legislation by releasing these details to a third party without consent of the members.
