Hi guys,

Was just curious regarding the collar things that are at the end of the HPA fill station hoses that attach to the fill nipple.

Do they come in different sizes/fittings?? Reason I ask, I was at Xball in Cardiff last Wednesday, and it was the first time I tried filling my tank using their fill station.
For some reason the hose kept on coming off my fill nipple. As in the thing wouldn't "lock" in place.
Last time I filled the tank was on Sunday @ Camden paintball, before that @ Action Rouse Hill. It's really weird as the reg was bought with the bottle back in May of this year and I've only been using it for training sessions every fortnight for the past few months..
Just trying to figure out if I need a new fill nipple, or if the hose @ Xball is just a different fit..

shouldnt be sizing problems, the quick connect? what was it like? was it really loose to slide? i had a similar problem, the quick connect was just in a bad way, so it didnt lock properly, could even be the o-ring in the quick connect, or the ballbearings are worn out, or low quality equipment, or even not the right equipment..... as long as it works at other places, then its all good, its not your problem,

As stated, it would have been the connector not your nipple, even more so if your bottle is reasonably new. Could have been a bit of dust/dirt on the ball bearings in the connector, did others have similar problems with theirs?

Thanks for the input guys. The equipment @ Xball afaik is brand new, and looked it.

Took a trip to Camden today and had Sam help me fill my bottle. It filled okay with no problems whatsoever (except that initially I connected it too far forward and it leaked as I was filling it). Funny thing is, a couple of the guys I was playing with on Wednesday had no problems filling their bottles, but for some reason none of us could connect the hose to my fill nipple to fill my bottle.

Most likely you have a slightly out of spec fill nipple...or they have worn o-rings in their fill collar ( o-ring size is "BS 008"...70 durometer)
Sometimes if you are getting a 4500 psi fill there are fill station collars that are only "4 ball" lock on them and these can distort the fill nipple and make it hard to re-fit the collar next time you fill.
High pressure filling should really only involve the "8 ball" female fill collars as these spread the load out over a much wider area on the fill nipple itslelf during filling.
There also 6 ball variants of the fill collars, these are ok but best ones are 8 ball lock.
Hope this helps.

I had this problem @ Xball also. My tank is a 68/4500 with an SIS reg. I borrowed a team mates 45/4500 with myth reg, and it filled up fine.

I dont think the connector is quite right. You guys might want to refit a one of the connectors Neil (above) suggested - in addition to an easy air fill station. The noises and explosions - yea explosions comming from the compressor/generator kinda made me stain my pants a bit

Hope you's can get it fixed asap :o

Yeah same, I too have a Smart Parts SIS reg on a 68/4500 bottle. Action fixed the fill nipple issue, now the problem I am having is that the tank doesn't hold air. After it gets filled and they unscrew the hose slightly to let the pressure out, the air comes back out of the fill nipple.. Took it to Action and they had no drama's refilling my tank. So it's definitely something to do with their equipment it seems.. :(
