nice work mate, welcome to the sport enjoy....... all i can really recomend is probably an empire reloader or halo..... i have a reloader b, and bought a dye rotor some months back, and i absolutely love it.... keep your eye on the classifieds section on this site, other then that, www.propaintballshop.com.au and www.paintballshop.com have deals and specials come up every now and then, the important thing to remember is this is an expensive sport, so just start planning ahead, dont buy all your gear at once unless you have the money to, me personally, i learnt my lesson the hard way, just keep your eyes peeled and you'll stumble across deals now and then. when your looking at hoppers try to get one that is quicker then the gat your gonna get (planning ahead). you get a slow hopper and you may start getting ball breaks.... not good with electro markers.... but yeah just shop around look at the bps (balls per second) compare the gat and hopper bps. try out other gear when you can so you dont go and blow too much on something that wont work with you.... again, learnt my lesson the hard way..... but sometimes you will be better spending more cash on certain things... check out www.pbreview.com it has reviews on most paintball products on the market and will help you decide.... hope this helps
Invert mini is awesome start up marker, nice price, fast, accurate & great value for money:thumbsup:
Have a few IONs (field guns) nothing but trouble:thumbsdow!
iv got a few different markers but my favourite has to be my borg. It was second hand but its a great marker. service and parts are so easy when its all AUSSIE!
As for a hopper the rotor seems to be holding up nicely, i havent put it few its paces yet though. But all iv heard is great things.

Have to agree with the consensus here - it's always good to go with a new mid-range/ secondhand high-end gun when you first start out. Though a low-end electro might be easier on your wallet, due to cheaper engineering, construction and parts, it will probably be just as expensive when you find yourself having to repair or upgrade. Plus there's little to no resale value with Ions and the like - you'll either wind up keeping it as a hardly used back-up, or selling it to some other noob at a big loss.
If you want something simple (which I assume means 'it won't be prone to break, and if it does I don't need to be a genius to repair it myself') I agree that you probably wouldn't go wrong with an Invert Mini, but you'd arguably get the same level of quality out of a PMR or Etek, depending on who you ask and/or your own experiences. Can't say that a lot of players here are big fans of SP gats, but the ultimate guideline for buying your marker is 'what do you feel comfortable with?' So if you want an Ion or Epiphany, screw anyone else's opinion, though you might struggle to find a lot of people to support your choice. Personally, I've had my Ion for a couple of years and have never had a problem with it, though I have put way more balls through my A5, so it could be a question of usage.
As suggested, have a look at the gear for sale on this and other aussie forums, and you could probably pick up all the gear you'll need to start out for a decent price (unless you haven't picked up on it, two major qualities paintballers have is the constant lack of funds, and being a gear whore. And yes, there is a clear correlation between the two.) But whatever happens, the most important piece of gear to get that's good quality and you're comfortable with is a set of goggs. There's basically nothing more important in paintball than 1) protecting your face (regardless of how unattractive you may be) and 2) being able to see what you're shooting at/ what's shooting at you. Sure, you can argue that having a marker to shoot at people is of equal importance, but as a noobie you can be sure you'll be hit a lot more than you'll hit other people, at least in the short term.
My suggestions are Vforce Profilers or Empire Events/Avatars, but there no doubt is plenty of reasons to get Grills, an I4, Flex 8, Axis etc. PBreview or TechPB are good resources to get an idea as to what's good, but unfortunately you'll never really know until you get your hands on what you want to buy. And sadly therein lies the problem with there being no gear shop being in the greater Brisbane area (the closest would be PBAustralia at Mudgeeraba), so all you can hope for is to have a look at other players' gear to get an idea.
As for hoppers, I'll leave that to the tourney guys - rotors, pulses, vlocitys, magnas, prophecys, torques etc pretty much all do the same thing as far as I'm concerned. I lack the experience/technical knowledge to understand the nuances that set these hoppers apart.
Hope this helps.
