I got my license in the mail on Friday afternoon. Will be going to the police station on Monday morning for PTA. I am in Queensland.
I really want to get two markers straight away. I've already got my Angel1 stored with a dealer and I want a bushball gun.
Essentially I want to know if applying for two guns at once, for my first guns, will get in the way of how quickly I get them. Will Weapons Licensing take longer or possibly reject my applications due to me being "greedy".
I am interested if anyone has any experience in the matter. We can all speculate, I'm want to know if anyone has "been there, done that".
I want two markers but not at the cost of delaying my Angel.
Thanks guys and girls.....

I got two PTA's at once for markers but i already had 2 rifles on my licence at the time.
it'll probably take you 4-6 weeks to get your pta's back if you dont have any firearms on your licence (sort of a cooling down period).
after you have firearms on your licence it usually only takes 2 weeks
have heard of issues in other states about not being able to get 2 PTA's at a time but i think you should be ok in QLD..
i think you'd be questioned if you were buying a few of the same marker as you do with rifles and such.
i got an A5 and a 98 custom at the same time and had no problems. :armed:

I've had two at a time, others in quick succession and it hasn't been a problem. Edda got 6 and received a letter saying no more for 6 months... Will depend on what state your in regarding there policy and how happy the issuing officer at firearms is on that day.

There is a cooling off period for your 1st marker (a month), you should get your PTA shortly after that. I'm not entirely sure but I think only one PTA for your first time - just give weapons licensing a call, the ladies there are usually very helpful.
After that you can apply for two PTA's at a time ( I have in the past when I got the pumps - they didn't question getting 2 of the same pumps at the same time probably because they are low-end but, as mentioned, they would question you getting two of the same high-end markers at the same time or if you already have one on your license). Any PTA after your 1st, you should get them back as soon as they can process them, quickest I've had is just over a week but that was dropped off & picked up personally (a benefit working in the city). It usually takes 2-4 weeks but may take longer if they are busy, or end of year etc.

The answer to why you might want 20 paintball markers is that they are all "different" in some way.
Here in Victoria they try this all the time - make up their own rules as they feel fit: it's a non Gazetted nonsense reason and they claim "normal". In fact they just feel politically correct and decided that the LAW makers didn't do enough and so MADE UP their own rules.
You need a reason for why you need so many -- send a technical letter in to as why you want it - there is no valid reason why they can refuse you a permit if you go that course.
The same argument I use is that police don't need more than a pushbike to do their job and people dont need a car that goes over 100km/hr.
You can collect anything you want.
