Bottle from Angel for another Marker?

Hello People,

I have a bottle that I would like to use on a different marker. Possibly on a BT-4, A5, Ion or Vibe.

The carbon fibre bottle that was previously used on an Angel 1. The previous owner confirmed that his Angel was set up for Low Pressure (LP).

What does this mean for me and my plans to use the bottle?

Need a different Regulator? Need to change settings somewhere? Just screw it in?

Also I recieved a brand new unused MacDev regulator with it. How do I identify if it is LP or HP? Is it any use for my plans?

depends on what marker you stick it on, bt4 is high pressure ion is low, need to know what marker it is going on first.

get a myth reg simply change a small spring out and can go from either high or low pressure

Regulator attached to bottle is Centre Flag, spare reg is Mac Dev.

I am open to which marker to get. If BT-4 (and A5) need new reg and Vibe or Ion do not then I will probably go Ion or Vibe. This is intended to be a second marker for backup and/or friends to use. Therefore cost is a factor.

the colour of the reg will tell you if it is HP or LP with regard to the mac regulator. What colour is the reg?

mac dev Reg is mostly black. Dial face is black with white markings and red logo

alll black Macdev reg is HP
if it has a silver sleave near the front its LP
but that depends on what mack reg it is
Take a picture and post it
Ill tell you if its HP LP or ajustable

I'll post photos tomorrow Arvo. In total I have two bottles with regs and a spare reg. My goal is to get a 2nd marker. I want to not have to buy a new regulator. Hopefully you guys will help me workout if I can get any marker or need to limit myself to LP marker.

Does any one know if a Vibe will go straight on to my "angel" LP bottle?

Vibe has an operating pressure of 180psi so yes it'll work with the LP reg'd bottle.

I called Macdev about this but they were unable to tell me what pressure it was from my descriptions.

A little labelling wouldn't go astray I think.

I think the basic rule with LP or HP. Go hp unless its an Angel. Matching a LP tank with say a Vibe could possibly lead to dropoff. Depends on the recharge rate of the reg though. I believe Macdev regs are pretty fast at recharging though.

Here are the photos of my spare and two bottles.

One bottle will remain with my Angel. The second will either be 1) used for a spare marker for friends or backup or 2) sold or 3) trade for 2nd hand steel tank and basic marker (+/- some cash).

So what are my options for my bottles and regs?

e.g. can I rig up a bottle for HP and/or LP? Do I need to use the spare reg? or can I modify the macdev or centre flag regs that are already on the bottles?

the macdev Reg you have is HP
you can tell cause the Sleave is black not silver (silver sleave means LP)
so with your bottles you have all bases covered a LP (centerfalg) and HP (legionair)
And no sorry you carnt change either of there bottle regs between HP/LP with out sending them back to the factorys there made
if you really want to be able to switch from LP to HP on the same bottle you might be best off with a ajustable reg like a SP Micro maxflow or something

Thanks eddahenry and everyone else. Just a quick question or two.

You said that the legionair is already HP. Did you mean the legoinair that is already on the bottle? If so does that mean it is "ready to go" on almost any marker ? (except an angel 1)

There reason I ask is that the previous owner said he used it on the Angel 1. Wouldn't that mean that it might be set to LP......?

Or maybe you meant the spare reg is HP and that I could change it onto one of the bottles?

Thanks for any clarity you can provide. BTW I don't intend to have either bottle frequently switching between LP and HP. Just want to keep one LP for the Angel1 and get the right marker for the other bottle or sell/trade it.

the black one is hp
the other one is lp

keep them both
i would use hp on most markers not a1's thou

these are pre set reg as in you cant change there out put of air

locktight them in and leave you have one of each
very handy most inline regs (the bit you hold at the front of gun) can handle hp regs so you should be rocken with most markers
i beleave most tippmans bts tac5s use hp
