Little River is World Series Paintball's newest field, situated on 10 acres and is home to 4 themed fields. It offers play on a variety of field styles ranging from the super fast paced Board field to the attack and defend style of the Fort field, which incorporates a massive multi-level fort!

Are you guys anything to do with Ministry of Paintball

if you have a read of their website, you will find that the two guys that ran ministry of paintball, went there seperate ways, one continued with ministry of paintball and the other started world series paintball

Credibility anyone....Oh, nevermind

having not played at Little River yet I can't pass judgment, but from the pics I've seen and the reports back from punters and staff alike it's frikkin awesome! Myself and a few other will be heading down there soon with guns in hand for a day off!!!

At Oakleigh we've just started to implement a beginners league and we've got plans to develop a semi pro league. We're running training nights at a really good price and if you speak with any of the Syn guys or The HOC guys you'll find that these nights are fun and affordable.

Now that WSP has a foothold in the Victorian paintball scene and is making money we're able to afford to run these types of ventures and in doing so service not only the average every day punter but also the small but growing community of full time paintballers in the Melbourne area.

now what were you saying about credibility???

Jimmy Vegas

so whats the deal with these training nights in Oakleigh?

zombiekid
09-09-2008, 06:32 PM
These training nights are Melbourne Mayhem training events and as such are by invitation only

kidding, although it is a Melbourne Mayhem training session we welcome most people of any skill level. All of the people we have to our training sessions are pretty laid back and the cost is reasonably low. Entry is around $10 and paint is quite cheap. If you're team is keen on coming down PM me!

So which one started World Series. Travis? And are they headed the in the same direction as Ministry were.

Jake D

What do you mean by direction? I may seem bias as i am an employee but i think WSP is doing some great things for paintball as a recreational activity (public players) and for it as a sport! Just ask people like Melbourne Mayhem and Syn and the likes...

Ministry of Paintball was simply an advertising function to get punters into the game and get them playing with "special" prices.

If you're on Bills, those "special" prices are going to be about 3 times what you're currently paying.

If WSP is the same, and picking from the site, it is. Then you're in the wrong place, we know about paintball, where to play it and what it costs.

If you OWN and OPPERATE all of the fiels, that's something entirely different. from what I see on the site and some of the locations you have, it's Marketing only - and pointing it at bills readers is like teaching the Altar boy about God, he know's the deal already.

Paintball ticket pushing is a whole bundle of gay, and lots of people on here will feel strongly about it.

Having people with nfi about paintball trying their hearts out to dump tickets on the public is not cool imo. Stories abound of field owners and ticket purchasers alike getting rolled by the system.

Yah, I've got no problem with Marketing, however, selling "10 tickets for a special price, all you pay at teh venue is $40" kind of thing is a bucket of yuk

IF that's what this is, it can die

I don't get it.....where does it say World Series are trying to take anyone on Bills for a ride? Mayhem as well as other teams and individual players practice at WSP in Oakleigh on a regular basis for cheap prices. And we are treated more than fairly.

How do you think regular paintballers get their costs kept down? By fields pushing/promoting punter prices.....on punters. If they're doing a once off party or whatever, then what's the problem of getting a salesmen to sell a product?

I honestly could care less how much knowledge a paintball salesman knows about the sport. As long as it keeps my costs down then they can do/say as they please.

You would care about how much knowledge they have when they get their commission as soon as the ticket is sold.

They'll lie to sell and let the field owners sort it out.

I've heard that Oakleigh puts on a good show for regulars. This is cool.

Doesn't change the fact that the ticket pushing is bs, and being associated with ticket pushing will taint WSP's name for many people.

I gotta agree.....from what I've heard about these guys and their Oakleigh field they are doing pretty well by established ballers. Punters are the main source and so what if they are doing ticket sales, Ive not heard anything bad about these guys unlike Ministry. Even though the sales people are annoying they are bringing people into our sport.

Keep up the good work guys.....

As I have said, if they are an opperation that owns and runs a field, then I'm down with that for that field - Hell they may well be the best damn field going around. Where I have an issue is the pushing of tickets or discount rates for punters, especially on here, it's just the wrong place.

Souse

I havent seen anywhere here them pushing discount tickets....other people were bringing it up because of their previous associatio with Ministry.......
