Remember Sappa Membership is needed this round

Mate it has been years since I have played a SAPPA event so you will need to fill me on on this membership thing. If it's any help we will be attending all the rounds this year so even though we are interstate do we still need to be SAPPA members.....if so that's cool just send through a membership form so we can get it done.

Thansk heaps:thumbsup:

Membership forms can be filled out on the day to avoide having to send $50. It will probably be easier to just bring the right money and we'll have forms to fill out for you on the day. Look forward to seeing you there.

So is registration/membership now mandatory to play in a SAPPA event? or is registration simply for a player database at no cost and membership something different again?

To my knowledge players have always had to pay a yearly membership to play. (Or there is the single day registration for that day)
I may be wrong, but this is how it was put to me when I first played. I will give you a confimation ASAP.
Yearly is $50. Single day is $30.

Never used to be a fee years ago. I know a couple of years ago at an AGM fees were increased from $20 to $50 to raise money for a compressor? I dont have a clue how the SAPPA is ran because I dont get involved in that side of it.

Yearly membership of the players used to cover team registration. No pay, no series points, never mandatory. I dont mind and not trying to stir any pots just need to know before hand as we intend to rotate some players this year and they are asking about this "new" system.

Hi all.

As announced at the AGM I am now selling Draxxus.

I have available Gold - Silver - Bronze. As the major sponsor for SAPPA I have the following deal available to all who are attending. Buy 6 boxes of one type and get 1 box free. E.g. buy 6 gold, get 1 gold free, 7 total. This is only available until stocks of the free paint last. I have attached an order form which also has my contact details.

Please call me for pricing.

Please note that pre ordering and picking up your paint before round 1 is essential.
There's only so much I can bring to the field in my car, and I need all the space I can get to bring pre ordered paint for the interstate teams.:respekt: for making the trip over.

To those who have already ordered, cheers

SAPPA is definitely BYO  No corkage charged. You must be a member to play at the event though $50 for the year $30 for the day

We do reserve the right to ban paints based on staining, non water soluble, detrimental to the field, to hard to wash of the barricades. But most tournaments require this anyhow.

Just on another note people have been asking about the rules too.
We have run standard NPPL rule book at SAPPA for over 3 yrs now.

The committee is considering some rule changes regarding eliminations and illegal markers/modes/bounce. The former going a bit tougher on an elimination and the later introducing a increasing scale of penalty rather than a 1 strike yer out. We'll let everyone know as soon as possible.

SAPPA President
17-02-2009, 07:13 PM
Also did I mention we have a paint sponsor for SAPPA who is currently our Diamond sponsor for SAPPA events. If you need paint get in contact with Pat.

Unreal guys!! Great to have you over!
Im sure they'll be a decent fight for that brass:armed:
Good luck to ya!

Whether we win any brass or not we will still be the guys having the most fun on the field.
If we dont win any brass then the winners had best keep guard cause the next game of the evening starts with me trying to steal it.... hehehe

Where is it at and can we drink booze their and if not wheres the nearest pub.

The field should be set up on Saturday morning, players should be able to walk the field in the afternoon.

SAPPA does not play finals, everyone plays everyone, points at the end of this decide trophies for each division: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place trophies awarded.

Given we have 16 teams we'll aim for a Captains meeting at 8am First Game at 830am. Gate should be open from around 7am.

If everyone can bring along there pre-filled out membership forms we can get that sorted early and get playing as quickly as we can.

Don't forget to download the SAPPA Memebership form, print, fill-out, bring to tournament and pay for your SAPPA Membership ($50 for the year)

Also, as per last year we have a $50 cleaning deposit from each team that is returned at the end of the day when everyone has helped cleanup and pack things away both in the safety area and on the field.

Please note that all the GOLD is now sold out:cry:. I still have some SILVER and BRONZE left. Some of you might want to use these in the morning if it is a bit cold and shoot the GOLD later in the day!

I don't think there are any more teams who need to order paint, but if you want any extra, just in case you don't think you have enough, you can let me know and I'll bring it for you.

Please keep in mind that each team plays 17 games, so you'll need to judge how much you think you might go through.

I will bring what spare paint I can to the field.

Please note, cut off for any more orders is 6pm on Saturday.

OK Guys this was a huge event

18 teams: started at 4am got home at 1145pm, a long day.

Good to see all teams arrived on time, captains meeting held at 8am with first game at 845am last game 650pm

Thanks to all the players for helping get the field cleaned and the pit area all tidy

A big thanks to Skirmish SA Brenton and Darren for letting us play at the field, hopefully we get some rain soon and the grass comes back to life.

An extra big thanks to the Refs for standing out there reffing all day :respekt:, Garry, Mel, Lawrence, JC, Michael, Ed, Brenton. Did an awesome job all day :)

Thank you to Paintball Pete Refs Inc for sending Jill over to run a Refs Inc training course the day before and for staying on on sunday to support the Refs and give them pointers all day. Worked a treat and the Ref standard is now of the highest quality :)

Thank you to Pat, Paintball Import Australia for supply Draxxus paint to all the teams and for the 6 boxes of Draxxus to give away as prizes. :) Don't forget buy 6 get 1 free

Thank you to Flip from Extreme for donating prizes for the Best Rookie.

Thank you to Martin from Challenge Paintball for donating prizes for Div 1 First Place.

Thank you to Cheryl from Action Paintball for donating prizes for an encouragement award for Div 1.

A big thank you to all the interstate teams that came over to play, well behaved, had lots of fun and some awesome paintball played by all.

Thank you to Rodney Squires Dynasty for the field layout that we all played.

Thank you to Taktix, Phoenix, and Fusion for spending Saturday morning setting up the field.

Thank you to Mark from Williams Laser Cutting for the nitrogen that we shot all day; well down to 2000psi at the end of the day but all was good. (Note to self: Will make sure we get an extra bank for the next round :) )

Thank you to Evright Trophies for the trophies we handed out.

The event ran smoothly all day, all teams turning up on time to get the games run through as fast as we could. 153 games all up on the day. As usual the BBQ lunch provided by Skirmish SA was just deeelish :)

Must say the atmosphere was very friendly both on the field, players calling themselves out and in the pit area, lots of teams getting along.

Lastly thanks to the SAPPA Committee for putting in all the up front effort to organise the event, the first for the year. We've learned a few things and we'll get these ideas incorporated for the next event.

Again thanks to all the players for making this such a great event.
Looking forward to Round 2.
