I've had a few messages lately that some sig sizes are way to big.
Should we have a firm policy on sig sizes like many forums do?
Comments, suggestions, opinions anyone?
as in size of letters or images etc?

Im after comments and suggestions at this stage.
Yours is a good example of a large text based sig.
It takes up over 1/2 a screen.
Is that too much?

i dont think pictures are to bad. as long as they arent stupidly massive.
Long text ones are a killer though.
yeah i suppose my sig is a bit large... can see how that could be annoying

So We Just Type A Message To Get A Point Across
nonononono forget about font size etc thats not the way to go about it.
Your best bet is to set a size in pixel, example. 400 pixels wide by 100 pixels high.
And then set a limit on physical file size example 50kb
I think this would be the best way to go. And the user can implement what ever they like within those specs, they can be animated gif's and or flash "swf" files.
Just my 2 cents.

perhaps you can limit the number of characters that can be typed into a sig?
I know a 'certain' paintball forum limits sigs to 500 characters in total and you cant have any pics, banners or IMG's. Most stuff in their sigs are links to sponsors or crap for sale/trade. Dunno if we need to go that far but certainly some size limit would be good.

My sig pisses me off for that same reason but also makes it easy for me to find my posts and see what crap people have written after it.....

limit the font and image size, cos to be honest some of the sigs are bigger and more interesting than the content in posts

Wow, I can now remember the very reason I turned off the option to view signatures over a year ago, having just turned it back on to see what all the fuss was about. Think I'm gonna go turn that sucker off again. Some peoples sigs are just plain stupid and a waste of bandwidth and screen space.

i believe that signatures should be allowed to include entertaining limericks regarding Hideous's various inadequacies.
this is our right not a priveledge.
if Hideous doesnt enjoy them he should write a letter to the attorney general.

easy way to sort this crap out Hideous, is to not come here & by doing so you will raise the IQ level of bills.

I was going to start a thread until I saw this one.
Some of the sig are a little silly in size, and take up more space then the posts they are on.
I'd suggest something like this:
Non supporting members - 3 lines of text (including empty lines)
Supporting members - 3 lines of text (including empty lines) + images (i'd suggest banner sized 468x60px or similar)
