I hear lots about different positions...
Does anyone have a run down on each position and how it relates to a team.
Also, ideal attributes to each specific position..
Any help here ?
We are looking to put together a noob team.. just need a hand helping out..

Basically:
Back players - Yell out heeps of info to front players, etc and throw heaps of paint making it easier for front players to move and ideally getting lots of eliminations.
Insert - do the whatever the hell the team needs them to do. They can play a key bunker, fill positions when others are hit, whatever.
Mid Players - Communicate between back and front players fill front player roles, and must be versatile like insert players.
Front Players - Push forward up the field getting eliminations, do the key bunkering runs and take out key spots. Must listen lots to backplayers so they can have a good idea of the whereabouts of the opposition. Snap shooting ability must be very high.

With a good team, they have their movements and communication down pat. This game is about angles, and communication between front and back players is essential. And don't ever let your front players become over extended ( left too far up the field without support from the back players ) A great back player will move up the field nearly every time his front man makes move up the field.

Hey Dish licka how is the paintball going all go i hope.
What the guys have said is on the dollar. If you play up front and dont get the support you can be the best player out but your not gunna do much.
If your back players are not helping you, swap positions for a few games and they will soon find out after a mugging or 2 how to talk and cover the front guy.
And as a back guy you should know what a front guy wants and how to play that role coz at some point we are all front guys.
Front guys will always play better when they feel safer. if they leave a bunker and move forward the guys behind them should fill the one they left. move as a team. It is a team sport.
Pick a training day and just try to go to bunkers you didnt think you could get to last training. It may open your eyes. Take a chance or 2 at training.
Most of all talk to the older players and ask one of them how to read a field.

Thanks for the info, its all going to help a fledgling team.. no visions of overseas tourneys, but just a bit of local fun..
My new toy is running SWEEEEET ! but a new barrel, a reg and running hpa should fix up my velocity probs and icing on the barrel that I am getting at the moment after playing a game dropping lots of paint...
Its damn cold that marker ! esp when your going 4-6hund rounds.. its like ICY !

You all left out the really professional positions
Deadbox Recon: checks out the dead box is safe for the rest of the team to come to, removing dead sticks, spiders etc.
Deadbox Warmer: helps the deadbox recon maintain superior numbers in the deadbox to prevent takeover from the opposing team.

What's your problem Crazy? You are just a deadbox warmer I get to be deadbox recon all the time. I even hear that Zonc has a "I beat Crazy to the deadbox" shirt from Rocky that he is going to deliver to me at Bundy.

Didn't see you at Bundy Crazy?
You left me in the deadbox alone, some deadbox warmer you turned out to be :)
The ref on the deadbox for supair got to know my number without me telling him I was that frequently the deadbox recon for my team. But I did get to stay in the whole game against Rush. I remember grabbing the flag and hanging it too. As one of my teammates said "What a rush". He He He!
I seem to remember a game on the speedball field where I got to hang a flag against Liquid Force, what a buzz with only 4 on our team too. Ah the sweet memories that fuel the desire to do it all again.(in spite of the cost and problems in fielding a team.)
Catch you all again when I can afford it :(

Bundy Uni took out Rush AND Liquid force ?????
This is one of the most underrated teams as they always pull a few tricks out of a hat each tourney.
