For those that missed this at http://www.paintballchat.com.au/index.php?showtopic=3502 , I thought I'd bring it to this forum as well.
As of April 25, Reactor Paintball is now up and running. This represents a 20 year dream come true for me. Finally I make my own paintballs.
Now to make things totally clear, Mike owns the factory (along with my partner Michael Tan), all the machines, the ingredients, everything. We employ 56 staff including two very experienced Chemical engineers, one with many years experince in making paintballs. We are not using another company to make paintballs for us. Reactor Paintball makes it own paintballs right from scratch. Anyone who tells you any different is a liar, plain and simple...
We have a state of the art testing facility with two seperate labs and a really cool testing range. We test all our paint using full auto versions of the latest guns including Angels, US5s, Timmys, Egos as well as the good ol fashioned tippmann Model 98. This way we know we can control the quality of the paint from the very source. It is also a really fun part of the job, shooting so much paint so the players will benefit. Do not thank me, it is part of the job......
Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, our first shipment of the new Reactor Paintballs will not land in Australia until the week after Round 2.....Doh! So it looks like it will be AcuBall for the last time.
On a more positive note, as one of the owners of Reactor, I will be able to increase the sponsorship for the Super 7s. Just wait until you see the prize pool for the 2007 Masters..
While the new site is just up today, it will be added to over the next couple of weeks. To check it out please go to http://www.reactorpaintball.com/
Finally, 2 Aussies (yes, Michael Tan is an Aussie lad!) are actually making paintballs for the world........hehehehehehehe
I have seen some samples and they look awesomely round.Cannot wait to permanetly shoot this Australian owned paint through my gat.Congratulations Mike and Michael.:respekt:

So there's no confusion...is Acuball now Reactor Paintballs, like, same factory, same paint, just different name, or is Reactor a totally new brand of paint and Acuball is still Acuball (different people, different factory etc)?
Just curious.

Different Factory
Different Owners (2 Aussies named Mike)
Different Staff
different procedures
Different Machines (latest technology)
Different City (but yes both in China)
Different boxes
Different paint
Just to clear it up for everybody.
No more confusion for poor Wayno...
For more info go to Mikes website
www.reactorpaintball.com or you can look at some of the cool pictures of the new factory on www.pbchat.com.au
Peter Russel is going to come over next month to tour the factory so you can ask him about it too.

From what Mike told us. R2 will be the last time you see Acuball period. Having said that, Mike wanted to launch the new product at the event, but fortunately just missed the shipping timeframe.

I saw it a few weeks ago, and it shits on Acuball in terms of roundness out of the box. I have a concern that it is very tough however, as it was tough to break open a couple of balls. Maybe that will be addressed as the process is refined, but it definately looks like an improvement over acuball.
As for free samples, I'm sure Mike and John would gladly fire some at you.

Truth be told, I am not sure what Mike has planned about the pricing, but I know he has a big factory and lots of new equipment to pay off, so I do not think tourny guys will suddenly be getting half price paint. I know he wants to throw more even more prize money into the Super 7s, how much not sure either..
Mikes biggest goal is for accuracy, quality and consistancy, the three big problems he kept getting with the old factory. They would never listen to him, in fact, they did not seem to care at all really and now have paid the price for it.
I suppose we will have to wait and see.

I have used a sample of "Reactor" at my field and all went well, easy to clean, marked well, colors did not stain my overalls, flying straight from Tippmann Model 98's on C02, flying straight from my Ion's, Angels, Shockers.
Passed to good old drop test from Four feet on the cement at home, no dimples, shook the hell out of it in hoppers for breaks, all went well, best of all the price will be very competative as well.

When we were talking to mike about it at a training day, he said that the price for tourney players would more than likely not drop anytime soon.
If players pay the same price as field operators, no fields are going to want anyone to play at their fields (except rec players).

Instead of giving grief and smart comments, people should hold off and really give this a chance. Some one finally had the balls to make at least a 6 zero dollar investment in the sport. The least we can all do is support an Australian company trying to do their bit. Once you have tried teh paint then you can form an opinion about it..
I really do wish the 2 Mikes all the best and I hope this paint can dominate the scene and make an Impact.
Well Done.

dude i beleive most people's posts were supporting the paint... apart from the odd dig at acuball which is deserved... and the posts aimed at john for not entertaining good marketing practices :p

Paintball Pete's news report from Dongguan City China.
Well apart from the whole place being an eye opener you wait Trent.Jamie and Rainy the Kareoke bars here are just mad, the traffic is even more bazzar.
Well i can honestly say that the factory set-up here by Action is very real and quite impressive.
I have watched Reactor paintballs made, cured, quality controlled, packaged and have even tested quite a few thousand balls allready myself through quite a large selection of markers, and i can honestly say that there is quite an air of proffesionalisim in the place and that Reactor is going to surprise quite a few people and that the paint, gear and equipment coming out of the factory set up and financied by Action is going to bring a new dimension to paintball in Oz.
I will report over the next few days with more gear and equipment reports and the large commitment that Michael Whybrew and Michael Tan are doing for the benefit of Australian Paintball and of course for his share holders.
From Dongguan City China

PS You guy's wait and see how good the Paint will be at Rd3 S7S SPPChampionship
