APA Tourny

Bundy is on the 20th and 21st of September.
The cost will be around $70, as we still need to find out afew prices on things there.
Thanks to all those who came to the meeting on Sunday and are helping out with the organising of the tourny.

The APA can now buy batteries at a fair price, so it would be good if everyone bought there batteries from the APA. As such the money will be put back into the tournies or compressor or such.
We can also get drills some garden tools, light fittings, bulbs and speaker wire, the list goes on. I will put up a list of everything that we can get as soon as I have it. Again support the APA by buying thing through it and you will get the rewards in the long run. If you are looking at flying or buying anything please contact us as we also have a rewards points with a flight company or cruises and other compaines. The points that we get from these flights and such will be used to buy prizes like TV's, Radios, Fridges and much much more.

Blobby has informed us that there is a BMX show on the same weekend at Bundy as our tourny. So if you are looking at getting accomadation other than staying at the fields, it would be a good idea to book it now.

At this stage we are looking at getting between 10-13 teams. We are looking at holding another supair only tourny later in the year so you will probably get another chance to play on it before the year is out. Can't wait till Bundy though, will be great fun as always.

We have 10 teams registed at the moment with another 2 who have said they are coming. So we are looking at having 12 teams. We will be playing the 2 speedball fields on Saturday, Amateur against Amateur and Open against Open. On Sunday everyone will play everyone on the Supair.

The APA Alan Clark Memorial Tournament, Bundaberg was a ripper.

Many thanks to Bones and Katrina (that really should be Katrina and Bones as she is much better looking). Well organised and run (the jellybeans in the team packs are a great idea. Stops the blood sugar levels falling and making the players grumpy).

The only hiccups were the heat and a fan that needs to be kickproofed (ie keep us boofhead players away from it).

Our team had a blast and our newbies are scheming how to fund some markers and gear.

Thanks to all the teams that played and even more thanks to the teams that stopped some of our paint from wasting itself on some barricade.

Sorry I don’t have and pictures but I can’t transfer the happy mental snapshots to a computer (they would probably lose something in the translation anyway)

Bundy was a lot of fun right up until those no game chumps Mayhem piped the mighty Fighting Cocks for the 3rd place in the finals. But no matter how much greif they give me over it all I have to do is remind them how Leggo and his Oatmeal Savages torn them apart in the prelims (I don't think they lost a single player and Leggo himself hung the flag :eek: and Barnie looked alittle like this :yell: and Bunker Monkey :cry:

Yep I had a great time right up til when I did a Face Plant/Belly Flop into the dirt, not my finest monent but at least Preacher enjoyed it. In fact he liked it so much he did the exact same move a game or two later. It's alittle sad how he tries to be just like me.

I am looking forward to next year and look forward to throwing my considerable weight behind the APA in 2004

I would just like to thank all the people that helped out over the weekend,
without all the help you gave us it wouldn't have happened. The games were great, exciting and hard. Some big names went down to some Amateur teams but I won't mention them hahahahaha. The Tournament is a memorial tournament for a player called ALan Clark who passed away last year and this is the second year we have held the tournament in his honour. Alan wasn't a well known player and never got the chance to show us all his paintball prowess. BUT he was kind & honest and a pleasure to have in the sport. He loved the sport and was a player that never complained and was always smiling, whether he was marking someone or being marked by someone. So we look for a team that represents these values to win the trophy and the winner for this year was BUNDY UNI. Congrats to you guys, I only got to play one game with you and was taken out early and you took down a big team all by yourselves. Fantastic :armed: :armed: :armed:

Thanks Gav for the show of support, it is great to see you back in the sport. To fill in everyone on the rest of the story of you falling over, you then slowly got up looked around walked back around to the back of your barricade then trotted up the field (as Gav does), picked up your hopper on the way put it on the gun moved to the next barricade then continued up the field head banging I think it was 2 players. Sorry I can't remember how many as I was in shock watching it. Unbelievable, great fun to watch.

Thank you to Dave for noticing and commenting on the jelly beans, it was Katrina's little gift to everyone, and she IS heaps better looking too.
