View Full Version : Headcam Paintball
This is a video from earlier today, filmed at the club day at Paintball Pursuit. Had everything going perfectly. But because I got shot in the lens early in the day, I've now got hours of footage of orange...
(This is the link incase it isn't working for anyone. It's really pixelated cause of google's converting thing, so best thing is to change it to 'original size' down the left hand corner of the video. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7527227322925943112)

This is another video from the same day, the first one. Same players, basicly (it doesn't have any of the club members because it was a game for the people who hadn't played before to get used to it. I was filling in to make the teams even). On a different field though, still at Paintball Pursuit.

Final video, this time I had to call myself out as the marker ran out of air.

It's a Tony Hawk camera by Blue Digital. One of the branded cameras meant for 13 yearolds. But it records to an SD card, not a camera in a backpack so thats why I'm using it. The quality of the actual video is better than that on google video (see my avatar thing), but when you upload videos they put them through a converter thing that makes it much lower quality, so yeah.

Is this what you have?
What size card?
How much does 1 hour video take up on it?

i had barrel-cam at gravity games... editing hasnt been done yet but you can see 15ish balls a second leaving the barrel and it looks MINT!
try it man - strap the camera infront of the feedneck facing down the barrel, youll get the tip of the barrel in the shot, and obviously anything u point the gun at... its COOL!

yes.
no idea... my mate was filming (guy who made WOTS rnd2 dvd)... its a little camera, square, bout the size of a 5c peice with a 1" antenna and a cable to a 9v battery... it broadcasts to a digi-cam off field (mono audio and colour video)... he paid about $200 for it.
we gaffa taped the cam to the barrel and feedneck, and gaffa'd the battery to the side of the gun... worked awesome, but ran out of range (went black and white) after around 75m from the camera... but we sorted that out by lifting the camera higher and more central to the field.

Is there any chance you could find out for me what type of camera it was..?

Yeah well you'd say that wouldn't you. (He's one of the partners/co-owners, just to dispel any crazy theorys you might all have)
But it is actually a great field so yeah. I'll be putting another video on here as soon as it uploads onto google... So next week or so :(

Yeah that's the one, for everything said about them they're okay, it's my mates really, but I've borrowed it off him for a few weeks. Using a 512 MB card I got around 30-40 min of video and still had a lot of space to go so yeah.
Added another video up the top, so yeah. Same day, same place, just happened a little before the last one.
(this is for those people who can't see it, http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid=-7451946733005215795)
Added the last one I managed to get before getting shot, it goes in between the other two in time of the day. By the end of it, the marker'd run out of air so I called myself out.
