Hello there.
We would love to/ and likely will be entering a team (or 2) into the "World Police & Fire Games".
A brief introduction: We are South Australian Correctional Services officers. We have enough for 2 teams of 5 plus 2 reserves per team (14 in all). Most of the members are Emergency Response Riot Group officers, we are fit and extremely active.
However, we are fairly new to the exciting sport of Paintball. If anyone has a link or two to tactics on the field, especially competition tactics, We would really appreciate any help. We are in this to learn and keep fit and hopefully excel at it..(one day).
Thanking in advance.:help:

Ahhhhh no. The one at the F1GP is separate from the games which (correct me if i'm wrong) are being held in South Australia.

welcome to the forums guys, the best thing to do is to get out onto the field and practise, practise, practise. goto some of the training days put on at the field and talk to some of the more regular players, sit and watch what they do on the field and see if any are willing to walk you through some drills, things you will most likely want to look at doing on the field are snap shooting drills, reloading, body position and running and gunning. also if you are very serious and determined to win the police games start developing some set plays, team code etc

Mate we spoke on the phone the other day. My team has a training day coming up in the near future. Let me know if you want to attend and I can see what we can arrange in the way of markers.

Yeah go to training days dude. Best bit of advise is to mix it up amongst other players, Pro or Ams does nt matter. But dont necissarily train with your guys against other players but play and train amongst them. Over here in training days, often its whoever is ready, split up , jump in and start a game.
Often the experienced players are really helpful to newer players.

Artwork for the new inflatable MIP tent for the GP. We've had some compliance issues along the way but seem to be working through them pretty well.
There will probably not be as many expo games as first anticipated. There will be various shootouts between emergency services, different media groups (newspapers versus newspapers versus tv station) and also SOME paintball sport expo games - maybe a few each day.
PS - We will be contacting interstate field operators that may want to lease the number 1300PAINTBALL outside Vic and we can lease this to you. Please PM for details on our pricing. The phone number can be operated on a state, regional or even suburb basis so that the calls go to wherever the number originates from (As with all smart alpha numbers). A very easy number to promote and remember.
I thought it was that :( Well yeah, as camo said, head out to the training day, fire some gats, have some fun and shoot your mates :)
Sounds like a perfect sport for you guys. You can read all the tatics all you like, and they do help (heaps on youtube) but really when the "GAME ON" is yelled its all out the window when you're new. Like everyone before me has said, there is nothing like getting out on the field and learning from your mistakes and fellow players.

We have an emergency services shootout at the GP but this is small scale fun compared to the world games. That said, feel free to call us for play when you are in Melbourne. We have some local police that are starting police paintball teams so i'm sure they would be keen to practice with you.

Thankyou very much for all the helpful advice and warm welcomes. I have spoken to our ERRG officers that will be participating and all are very keen on learning the sport.
The general concensus here seems to be.."get in there, and practice!" Duely noted.
Once again, from the lads, CHEERS!

Chief Wiggum, that would be my offsider, Andrew, you spoke to on the phone. In regards to your teams training day, mate, we would love to come watch/participate and learn from pros. If you could give me details on when/where, ill arrange it on my end. Cheers.
