It is scheduled for the 18th but having so many teams it may have to be run over 2 days. Something that will have to be discussed at the AGM.

So the event will be run over two days? I am entered in with the WPFG teams and we have been told it runs over one day? If this is the case that it is running over two days, it might be an idea to call the captains of the teams from the WPFG teams so they can let all the players know, cause I am pretty sure that they are only coming for the one day. I myself will be flying into SA on tursday night from Canberra so I wont be able to make the first day in this case. :thumbsdow
But anyways, I am looking forward to throwing some paint down towards the LAPD!
Cheers,
Arf.

Hey arfer, i've put it down as a 2 day event at this stage because fitting the regular 15 or so SAPPA teams in on one day is getting a little tight. We will have to wait to see how many entries we get first before it's set in stone. But hey if you can make if for just the one day we would be glad to see you......
Yes i'll get onto Susan from the WPFG and let her know that the SAPPA tourney may go for 2 days depending on entries. Cheers

I'd love to come along and participate, possibly with a friend if he wants to.
Buuuut I don't have a team. I would go with Genocide, but I haven't heard anything from them.
Oh, one more thing, what is the entry cost?...Is there an entry cost?
Please contact me if you can take a player or two. :)
Position: Front/Mid - I love these positions, and I think I'm alright. I've been in one tournament, but I've had lots of practice.
Marker: N/A - I'll need to either hire a Titrack 98 or if I could borrow someone's electro for the day?
Equipment: Pod Pack and soon a mask

Things that you should know about round 1
2 day event
This round Pro and Div 1 will play each other. And again at round 4
We will require as many hands on deck for a busy bee at Paintball Sports Kuitpo on Sunday March 11th, to help put up some netting. By doing this Paintball Sports will waiver any field fee SAPPA has to pay. In turn SAPPA will only charge teams for 1 day's play instead of two. So it's a win win for everyone involved, teams get 2 days for the price of 1, Paintball sports gets some netting put up and SAPPA saves $$$ on field fee's

I will try to get down there anyway and take lots of great photos with my shnazzy camera. I wouldn't mind being the offical photographer if it's needed, the camera is of good quality.

All the intrest came through from the WPFG channels and i'm sure we'll get more teams as the week progresses. The 2 day event was a contingency in case we got all teams plus SAPPA's. We would never be able to fit 18+ teams, set up and clean up the field in 1 day.

And...
Well, we had a top weekend, and what a weekend it was...
Highlights,
Coming third, not sure how that happened!
Smacking Adelaide Calibre, not sure how that happened either!!
The reffing, really nice work!
Watching Kronik, man have they evolved quickly, I hope you guys travel and kick some interstate butt!!
A podium finish for Cyclone, first tourney in pro division.
Smacking Adelaide Calibre...:D
Had to feel sorry for Justin (the newbie playing on our team) playing his third ever tournament game, and winning his first game, only to be pulled when he raised his hands in the air, celebrating his victory  but rules is rules!
Thanks to everyone who made it happen, the field set up looked great and worked well, thanks to Steve and Pete letting us test run it.
Thanks for the Jerseys, unfortunately I can't remember who supplied them.
Huge thanks to Cheryl for putting up with my crap. I went home on Saturday night and told Cheryl I was a bit disapointed with the paint we were shooting and said I wanted to try something better and more expensive, her reply was a no objectioned, "OK"   How good is she!!!
And to repeat what Shane said on the day, the quality of play was awesome!
Thanks again to all the sponsers, my team and all the other teams. Its good to be back and I look forward to seeing you all at round 2.

The player in his previous game fired his gun in the air, over the netting and was warned.
Oh and the 2nd time he put his gun in the air, the game wasnt technically over yet.
The reffs COULD HAVE been lenient. However other players may then expect the reffs to be lenient towards THEM too. No leniency means no favouritism as far as I see it.
Sorry. I don't wanna start a debate. I just felt obliged to clear that up, as you were not actually at the field.
I know you're a good fella, but now you're a more informed good fella:p

A player in a previous game...
Just to clear this up, it was a different fella who shot in the air - not my player

Congrats to Kaoz and Kronic. I really expect to see big things from Kronic this year and look foward to seeing how they go at the M5M.
As to raising your gun in the air to celebrate and getting pulled I would say that isnt to bad. I've seen many people pulled or warned for just putting one hand in air and waving it around which is just stupid.

its being cantankerous.......there is nothing in the rules that states you cant raise your hand in the air .......aslong as you arent acting like you are eliminated then you are alright......lets not become killjoys and stop people celebrating

As for raisin your hand in the air,
My team did it all day! (when we won)
To clear it up he raised his marker not his hand and the game was not over. simple, in a previous game a player and from my memory shot over the netting unintentional of course and into the netting while running the flag back.
And just to clear it up too, I'm not having a whine, rules are rules, he just didn't know them.:respekt:

I just wanted to thank everyone who turned up for SAPPA round 1, it was an awesome turnout.
:respekt: to KRONIK for wacking us 5 zip and for taking out your first 1st. I personally feel that you guys are destined to be one of Australia's next best teams. Keep up the hard work.
Oh yeah, and cheers for welcoming me and Danny to "CAMP KRONIC"
Also big thanks go out to SAPPA, the refs and to Pete and Steve. For me, this has been one of the most enjoyable SAPPA tournaments to date. LOVE the 2 day events.
Big SHOUTS OUT to my team who played great ball both days. I'm honoured to be a part of a great bunch of guys.

Out of the top 3 teams from both divisions it's great to see 5 of them got their podium finishes shooting DYNASTY paintballs.
For those who were just trying it out, I hope you enjoyed shooting it, and I thank you for doing so.
For my sponsored teams, it’s results like that which make me proud to be your sponsor.
 I thank you all for your support and wish you the very best for the 2007 season.

I would also like to thank the Tomahawk boys for their continued support of SAPPA. Not just for the paint you put towards prizes but also the field you supplied for SAPPA and spending most of your playing days sitting behind the laptop you supplied doing the scoring all day, both days.
TOP JOB
Cheers Danny and Blobby for the comments on the paint. And a big congratulations to KAOZ on your 1st place.
