This sort of stuff is what we need to point out to the MP's... other countries are gaining financially from paintball, the sport is creating jobs and consumer expenditure... yet we are having trouble even being able to play... i'm not saying use this as the numebr one argument but this type of thing has to be pointed out...

what exactly are the goals we are after these .Do we want some form of licensing for our markers (stop any stupid wanker buying one) , Import laws changed to allow new imports . Blanket laws across Aus. I am still fairly new to this new to this great sport so im not 100% sure about what every wants or does not want so.
I know i would love to be able to have a brand new gun that i can keep at home and be able to travel across Australia and overseas to play tourneys with .Thats my two cents not that it means that much with our god dam laws

He was using them as examples of how USA treats paintball its just a sport etc they even show it on TV, if we pointed this out to the local MP. Like R.I.P.S. said other countries are making lots of money from this sport and australia should be doing the same.

After owning and on selling 5 differant marker all registered to me in Vic over the last 3 years i just found out, although the interstate buys now have them registered in thier own name. In vic they are still in my name too.
This happen with all firearm coz the registerys dont communicate inter state.
Well this is a perfect example of how stupid the gun laws are. Lets spend billions on buying them back but not keep track of the ones out there.

Tyddy my man your frustration is understandable. You'd think it would actually create more work for them I mean doubling up on serial numbers. Think about it, if the second person sold the marker interstate, you'd have 3 sets of serial numbers on 3 states books? What happens if they want to find the owner?

i have been looking at buying a semi auto from overseas for a couple of months now, and even from QLD, you have to have all of these lagalities to back you up when buying. If paintball were to become a regognised sport in Oz, instead of a frowned upon means of "training people to kill" i quote some complete tool in parliament, it could become an economic advance in Australia in the future. Plus i want my marker!

I thought it was obvious, there is no back up!!!!

It doesnt matter that you can legally own one in Qld its against Federal law to import one. If customs see it, it will not matter if you have a Qld permitt it will be sent back overseas or used against you in a prosecution case!:hammer:
