Just received my QLD firearms licence, woo-hoo,

After reading some of the posts regarding the Tippmann A5 legality???, which was my original choice I am now thinking of getting either JT tac-5, WGP VF tactical or a Q-Bow.

Has anyone got any suggestions/feedback on these markers (I am a woodsball player through and through)? I haven’t been able to find where to get a WGP VF tactical or a Q-Bow in QLD, anyone know who is selling these in OZ?

Also, I have asked QLD police and my firearms safety course instructor regarding “is it legal to use a paintball gun on your own property (acreage industrial land) and if not, how do I go about getting it approved as a paintball field?” I want to set something up in our warehouse car park so my mates (who are all licensed) and I can practice.

Any feedback would be appreciated

come on out to the samford special ops club day this sunday and take a look at everyones markers, Qbows arent for sale in Austrlia and would have to import it yourself.

you can only play at licenced fields, and you would have to jump through heaps of hoops to get ur property licenced, for all the grief and money it would involve would be easier just to goto a field and play.

come along to the field on sunday and take a look at everyones gear, you will get a good idea of what is available and they might be nice enough to let you shoot them

xu1gtr90. - one of the conditions of a pb1 category licence is that a firearm shall only be used in an approved shooting gallery.... pretty retarded given that its ok to shoot real bullets and kill real animals on a rural property...!

ive also heard that if police find any broken paint within your residence, its reason enough for them to permanently confiscate your pride and joy!!!.. balls could have been spilt and stepped on - not actually shot - but if you get the right arsehole at the right time, they have the authority to take it none-the-less!....

Welcome to the sport...and its farking wonderful rules...

Ben, have a look at this thread.. http://billspaintball.com/vb3/showthread.php?t=7135

Yes, you need a letter from a club...... and, you will need to complete the safety course in order to register for a licence..... then you have the cooling off period...

Camo kid, Moshoo, thanks for the advice, i have been trying to find out about using private property for paintball for ages, couldnt get a straight answer/advice from anyone previous.

Hey Gav, I am based in Brisvegas and a member of your club, I joined earlier in the year, but have not yet had the chance to come out for a day (bloody work!!), will try coming out on sunday, cant play but will come for a look.

So bloody hard for me to figure out what to get for bushball, I have had a shoot of tippmans 98's, sonic cyporgs, spyder??, an old autococker and a JT-tac-5. I would buy an A5 tomorrow, but after reading some of the issues re leagalities? on this forum, i am leaning towards something else

Now that I know that I would have to import the Q-bow, I am no longer interested, a VF tactical with the Spec ops
T2w Stock would be my next pick (unless anyone recommends otherwise?)

Gav any suggestions? I want to get my permit to aquire sorted next week so I can get the marker early January ready for the year.

Ben, I went to belmont about six months ago, at that stage there was the QLD military rifle club and sporting shooters association holding safety course days every 2 weeks. I forget exactly what it cost me, $50- $65 maybe???

Mate we have 2 VF's down here I chase up a price they have been here for ever so I'll see what I can do. But to be honest you can use any marker for bush ball. If you want to go remote a T2W stock is great I have one and stick it on my Proto (soon to be a Minion). Best bet would be to try and get there Sunday and have a sticky beak at all the different markers.
