Been following this on pbnation for a while now... they call it the mummy cos bob wrapped it in grip tape with stuff shoved under it to hide its milling and all that.

Apparently its doing 28.2bps with paint. Heres a quote from a BLAST Tech:

The Mummy Story
Prior to the Texas Open, Bob had combined and developed the idea of taking the Intimidator stack tube design and re-engineering it into a single tube. Essentially moving the ram/valve assembly behind the bolt. The goal was to design a new marker that retained Intimidator like efficiency while providing a new platform that will incorporate new features that no marker available today has.
Because of some of these new features, it was decided that the marker should be disguised from the public. So Bob just took some athletic tape and wrapped the prototype, thus the Mummy moniker. After the Texas event, the Mummy1 stayed at the shop for testing purposes and hasn't been seen by the public since.
Now the second prototype was developed, a more refined and improved design, one step closer to the future production model. But still a test platform, for body and frame fit and more importantly to test and refine the new top secreat features. Because of new features, it was again decided that this marker should be disguised also. Auto manufactures regularly disguise future model cars for similar reasons.
The Mummy is just sort of a code name for the new marker, infact this new generation of marker has not been named yet.
The marker is scheduled to be introduced and available at WC or the NPPL World Championships along with the new Bob Long Technologies Trailer.

Like to know if that ndfs shooting 28+ was PACT Timer confirmed?
Yes, we do realize that others may have achieved in even higher rates of fire and that organized tournament play has bps limits. But with the speeds 22-25bps range, we are achieving in sustain fire not peak, with a variation of +/- .001 per sec between shots, this adds up to phenomenal consistancy coupled with Intimidator like air efficiency. Every witness who made a comment to me this weekend, said they have never seen or experienced any marker like this before. It's overall speed is on a whole new level and shootability is easy for all styles of play.

Looks like theyre targeting it to the lower end of the market - to rival the eteks etc... but with all this hype it does make you wonder if this 07 model will be the big boy, leaving the 06's as the low end? =)

no idea.... i think what theyre trying to achieve is a lower end marker that has bragging rights... but you're right - no one can pull a trigger that quick (they claim they were using the '3 finger method' to do it).

I assume that's the reason for all the tape and packing .. to try and hold the detents in !!!

Sizewise and overall shape look slike a shocker,
Trigger guard and trigger all timmy
the rest of the body lines / general milling reminds me of a dye product tho.... odd.

alien

Yeah i reckon by the looks that trigger guard is the same size as the gen4's, however i think the actual marker is longer than the gen 4, probably cos they had to fit the ram, bolt and poppet all in the single tube... so gaining 1" for all that aint too bad at all...

Apparently itll come with the option of the "comfort hump" on the back of the grip too... which will make it much nicer to hold than it looks now.

Here's what has been confirmed thus far on it:

1. Its NOT a spooler
2. Ram in the back, bolt in the front, poppet in the middle (similar to a tippman?!)
3. Milled not extruded like the gen4
4. Feedneck part of marker
5. dual break beams (thats 2 sets of eyes to clean)
6. new detents
7. new HPR (looks like a CP reg to me)

Logan

Check the pics again - there are two diff regs, one is def the CP - the other looks like the standard timmy reg

alien
08-08-2006, 12:58 AM
yeah top pic is the torpedo reg, which it will come with apparently.. strange that the manufacturer chose to put a CP on 2 of the others though =) haha (theres only 5 in existance right now).

Ok time to clear some things up.

1. It is coming out with a different reg which is still in development. You will also find the CP reg is being used as it is probably Zach's gun and he seems to like his CP regs or may be sponsored by them. I think it is supposed to be similar in design to the hyper2 with the swivel fitting.

2. As alien said the pic is just a prototype and there are a few modifications such as the different grip frame and different grips. It is also said to be a clammy as well.

3. The laser engraving you see will be available on limited editions.

4. Effenciency is said to be awsome and similar if not greater than normal intimidators. It has been reported that Ron said he got 6 pods and a hopper off of 1200 psi from a 68, and Zach about the same. Seems VERY doubtful but if true would be the most effecient marker by far.

5. Speed is 28.2 bps which has been confirmed with paint. I current vids of it are all in full auto but it is said to be very fast to shoot in semi.

6. It has quad eyes. When said it was just a marketing ploy Terry59 said "There is an extremely good reason behind this and I can assure you it's NOT a Marketing ploy by ANY means. Not in the least. When all the info is released everyone's going to say... GENIOUS!... Why didn't we think of that?"

Oh and when I buy one I no longer have to hear you shoot a spyder! If it does have the poper with ram and bolt joined like a tipman I can look foward to you shoot a Tippman instead. :-(

Oh it is set for release at San Diego NPPL in Sept. 06 and its said to sell for $995US and should mean a $1500AUS price or maybe lower. :-) (Quoted from Terry59)
