Hey guys

Got my 06 infamous and im gonna be needing lube for it... the manual says DOW55 for internals and Tri-Flow for the bolt... surely you guys aint getting it from the USA - so where do i look to get this stuff in perth?

I know DOW and TriFlow are brand names so there's gotta be equivalents here in shops for use in plumbing or something right??

Cheers =)

Dow lubricant should be available form any good bearings shop....triflow is something the bike shops sell (not motor bike, ......push bike)

Hey guys, i just went hunting for some of this stuff a few weeks ago. Go to BSC Motion Technology. As people have said its made by Dow Corning, but its called Molykote 55. They sell it for about 25$ a tube which is enough to last years.

ATOM Supplys 9351 3600 77 McDowell st Welshpool.
They Definatly carry DOW 33 and would pressume DOW 55. I am not sure if there is much difference but the Borgs use DOW 33.

The dow 33 is actually a low tempreture lubricant...originally designed for extreme low tempreture lubrication....such as co2 powered markers.
Dow 55 isnt for low temp but has similar lubrication properties.
Molycote 111 is a specific o-ring lubricant...very good for airsystems and some regulators but its a very thick lube, one good thing though, it does stay where you put it and dosent tend to "migrate" where it isnt wanted.
If your marker specifies using oil to lubricate it..KC make some very good lubricants for paintball guns or maybe angel "love juice"?
KC lubricants are available from www.ppba.com.au

I think the thicker lubricants may hold the bolt or ram back a bit maybe causing dropoff. :confused:

OK, spoke to the bike shop, they have heard of triflow, but they use Inox Premium Grade Food Machinery grease "It can be used on O rings, plumbing seals, etc"... $6.95 a tube.

Ill be getting it from George's Bike Shop in Balcatta (ask for Gary) 08 9344 2393.

u prly know this already, but Dow 55 lube is designed to slightly swell ur o-rings for a better seal, and the swelling is needed on certain markers, so just check whether timmy's need the swelling or not, that might be why they suggest to use dow 55.

nar i re-read the manual... triflow on the bolt every chance you get, and dow 55 on all internals, on the ram every 5000 shots is recommended... the LPR every 20,000 or something...

I rang Macdev about lube for my Sonic and was told Molykote 33 for everything but the ram which they recommended Mk 55 as it swells the o-rings slightly- still sealing as they start wearing.
Mk33 comes in 2 "weights" as well, light and medium- service temps are the same, but dropping point and worked penetration are different.
