Info on WDP's New Angel

Ok, pics are still not out and unfortantly it wasnt released today as had been rumored. So instead heres all the info from sources that have seen the new marker ..

From about a week ago - numerous sources ..
Here are a few FACTS
There is a new gun. (just in case you were one of those doubters!)
It's called the xxxxxxxxxxx
It's 100grams (nearly 3 ounces) lighter than the Ego. I believe that makes it the lightest gun out.
Most of the weight will be in the grip.
The body IS the length of a dollar bill.
The barrel will come stock
The barrel is lighter than a Dye ultralight!

It's soooo light! It looks so awesome!
YES, it is the "length" of a dollar bill! The body is definitely shorter in height than a dollar. +/- the feedneck.
The front stops at the reg.
The barrel is slightly set back.
It's a modified 3 tube design. Still the same pattern but smaller.
The LPR is in the very back.
The the ram has a LIGHTER mass. It moves amazingly freely. No resistance at all.
Four color screen on the top and side of the grip. Small but easy to read menu system.
Bluberry style, 3 button system on the back of the grip.
They employ a patented self cleaning eye system that really works! The bolt is designed to blow the eyes clean with every shot.
The system can be configured for SUPER SOFT ball kiss. Softer than ANY marker out there.
The grip frame is the exact right size. It's super comfortable and more than large enough.
The air configuration is VERY efficient! There's even a 3 shot air buffer to help when you take advantage of the amazing speed it brings to bear. (Just in case the reg on your tank can't keep up)
The Barrel IS lighter than a UL. It comes with 3 different matching backs and a front.
The ASA is integrated into the grip.The profile very lean. The hose exits via ther front of the asa to put less out the side to get shot! Just twist the front and you can open or close the airflow.
It has an automatic degass when opening the ASA.
It's a 9v setup.
Locking feedneck (NOT like the 05 speed)
They redesigned the placement of the eye wiring as well.
The porting on the valve is HUGE and beautifully polished. It's impressive.
Because of the LPR placement the airflow is greatly simplified and improved.
It's perfectly balanced, like a fine sword!

Despite much speculation that WDP would be introducing their new marker at this event, it wasn’t introduced to the public today. However, WDP’s Owen Ronayne gave me a private showing of the new marker, but unfortunately wouldn’t allow pictures of it to be taken. However, he did clear me to describe the new marker. The as-yet unnamed marker still has the trademark rotobreech that sets the Angel apart from the opposition, but serious changes have been made to the basic layout of the marker to minimize size and weight and maximize performance. The LPR and Solenoid now occupy the back of the marker, localizing all of the operation parts of the marker in the back. This reduces the overall length of the marker to around the length of a dollar bill.

Gone are the straps that ran up the side of previous generation angels. The eyes are now completely modular, and accessing them is accomplished by removing small eye covers and then pulling them out from the front of the marker. The grip frame has also undergone several changes to the shape, and the electronics filling it are amongst the most sophisticated ever seen in paintball. Every aspect of the marker’s operation can be controlled via a simple, intuitive menu system. The new marker eschews the rechargeable battery pack, using 9 Volt batteries for power. Aesthetically speaking, it’s similar to the ’06 Speed, only a very small Speed. The marker is significantly lighter than the previous generation G7 generation markers. At this time it’s not known when precisely the new marker will be introduced to the playing public, but we would assume it’s soon if WDP representatives are showing the marker to members of the media.

hmmmm ..... I believe a front reg is basically a handle on the outside and therefore should be designed that way. Angels have one of the best "looking" and most useful regs out there.

Maybe they should put a sticker on it or something. That would "bling" it up a bit.

Agree - i think they make them to suit a person holding it and they feel the most comfortable to hold..

If a sticker isnt suitable - maybe they could add some flashing lights, or make it look soo cool you dont want to cover it up with your hand ..

i find it interesting they dont compare it the the 06 bob long markers... i reckon the new timmy's are about the same size as it... and after having a play with one last weekend it certainly felt lighter than an ego with the same size tank (45/45) - purely cos it was more balanced i think...

I have the 06 speed had it for 3 months, shot a few balls with it, it nice fast as is most other shooters out there, some shooters need assistance to reach high ROF, most angel owners know that out of the box all Angels rock... dont need upgrades to make any Angel hummmmm..
This new shooter is like going from driving on the road in any V8 to driving formula one on the same road... its way ahead of itself..price tag... 2k nz its up there but oh so worth it...

Do you sell Angel markers ?

Considering .689 is standard most will have to buy an extra insert or two from Spence > will he stock them to match the new marker ?

Some people like matching colours and matching milling. I know I will pay extra to have matching rear's/inserts.

At present most of the tourney paint is large .691, yet this new paint we have been using is .685. That will lead to some inaccuracies.

We know what is suppose to come in the box, but that is not necessarily what may arrive by the time it clears customs.

My new marker came with an extra .689 freak insert, o'ring kit, extended warranty card without being considered an EXTRA.

yes Wanye, the the G7 Fly and 06 speed barrels fit, WDP supply and adapter( gold ring)... futher more, guys you may hate Angels some of the other modles of shooter are hated also...but mark my words... this shooter is far ahead of any other... it time you will come to give it a second look... Timmys had their day then shockers and DMs ... its now time for the Angel and with this new Angel one, Im sure it will last years at the top..

I've read that its not actually an adapter ring but a cosmetic ring. from what i can gather the A1 has the same thread size but shorter, therefore if you screw a g7 fly barrel in you would have some exposed thread. the ring is there to hide the thread.

I have 3 Angels (LCD, 05 speed and a G7 Fly) and i think they ROCK. I will own the 2nd series of the Angel 1 to, give them time to iron out any falts if any. :evil

from what i can gather neither video is a true representation of the true potential of the A1 but i thought some of you fellow angel lovers out there might like to see one in someones hands on video.
as much as i've enjoyed drooling over stills of the new angel for the past couple of weeks its great to see it in action.
