Suggestion - Forums Wall of Shame

How about a wall of shame, list those banned at the moment and the reason why ..
Not only allows all to see who was a tool and got banned but might act as a deterrant for others. Different people constantly getting banned for the same thing.

Just needs to be a list -

User Name, Reason for Banning, Banned Until, Banned By

Also lets us see which mod has the biggest banning stick ..

not a totally silly idea sardukarn,normally you have no idea why you get banned.
i say this coz ive been banned once and accused the wrong person for doing it.:help:
if you have to ban someone :hammer: they should know what the exact reason was and whom the banning came from,this i think would make the playing field level.
maybe this wall of shame may help repeat offenders who dont realise that ppl have fragile ears and dont like opinions voiced that they may not like:lol:

normally you have no idea why you get banned.Most people know exactly why they have been banned.

When you try and post, you will be told that you cant post because your banned, a reason, and date ban expires.

If for some reason a banning reason was not entered there, PM a mod and ask.

Most common banning reason is spamming in resources.

The for sale forum rules are quite clear.
Part of them say...



Note: Only posts by Seller and potential purchases are allowed.
Just to make things clear, the only types of posts allowed in For Sale - Private are

Item description.
Questions on that item.
Answers to those questions.
Any additional comments/updates the Seller wishes to add.

This means Do not do posts just to say what a great items it is cause you have seen it in action etc.

If you break the rules expect a short holiday from the board.



Spamming in resources was a big problem in the past, rendering in pretty much useless for what it was ment for.
That is why we made some strict rules for resources.

I banned you Damo, just like 7 other guys in the same week, all for spamming (which means non related posts) in a For Sale thread. And this was after I made a thread in the Members section warning people not to spam in the For Sale Areas. You obviously don't realise how much crap we actually have to clean up on this site.

and posts like this which question the state of the marker which should be pm'd to the seller aren't considered spam?? and this was posted 1 day after my banning i beleive... so where is it fair? i do something for a mate in his thread that wasnt spam, (how can that be considered spam, i didnt tell him id trade him mini's left milled nut for it) only stating it was a great marker and someone should take it quick... talk about double standards.

but shit happens and its done and im over it. i know not to post in that section now to promote items. :yes:

Yes Damo, I agree with you, but you must realise with the amount of posts to go through, some get missed. I am trying to keep For Sale threads clean so people don't have to wade through pages and pages of crap to get the details or info they're looking for.

My advice to everyone is NOT to post in the Resources section (especially For Sale Private/Commercial) unless it's a serious and relevant post. Some of the forums I visit don't even let people reply in For Sale threads..the seller posts all the info and that's it..you HAVE to contact them by phone, email or PM..it works well IMO.

All depends on if a Mod happens to read it or not. Theres close to 130,000 posts on here now, its not hard to miss reading a couple here and there.

If you think a post is spam/off topic/whatever you can just report it using the report post function. That way you can be sure it will get looked at.

The problem is Damo, that most threads torn to shit in a matter of hours.... If we dont make rules then the original post is on page 4 by the end of the day..... No way is a potential buyer to know if the marker is sold or not.... We have had instances where someones marker was being "UPPED" by a mate & then another mate & b4 the end of the day it was up to page 2..... what the hell is the point in that...

So a rule was made

sometimes its a pain but its less of a pain than constantly deleting bullshit posts..

remember...its easier banning a person than deleting a post...:lol: :thumbsup:
