Well the 2nd round of the APPL series has was played on the weekend. Pro division was won by Rattle & Hum who smashed their way through the finals for 300 points while only losing 5 players over 3 games! Excellent work guys.
Am division was won by Adrenalin Rush who also maxed with 300 points in the finals. Full results are on the results page. (../pb2001results.html)
Despite the rain on Sunday the Tourney ran like clockwork with all games running ahead of schedule. The Air refills were first class (It looks like it really pays to contract this out to the professionals), the reffing was good (well there was the usual bitching, but what's a tourney without that).
It was the first time I ever played on a Sup'Air field and it took me about 10 rounds to come to grips with it. It was great fun though and I'm looking forward to the next time I play on it now that I know what I'm doing.
Special mention to Marcus who played with us in Stars & Bars. In one game against Shift he went 5 on 1 and got a Max! Keep your hands off him SWAT, he's ours.
Shift(playing their first APPL & half of them using Tippman 98's) then turned around and smashed SWAT for a max.
Also a big thanks to Ben, Emma and Mick? from Shift who filled in for the 2 players on our team who didn't show for the Sunday. Thanks guys, don't know what we would have done without you.
And finally the Newbie of the tourney award goes to a certain Michael who tried to chrony with his squeegee still stuck down the barrel. :lol:
