The first issue of Australian Paintball Magazine has hit the stands! :bigparty:

Its been quite a while since we last had our own magazine, Paintball Sports Action and before that Paintballer.

You should be able to pick this up at most fields, and some newsagents. If your local newsagent does not stock it, ask them and they can order it in.

Well, I ordered it from my local news agent about a week ago and received a phone call from them saying it's not listed from their supplier of magazines. I will keep trying. Anyone else in WA managed to get a copy yet?

Got mine yesterday...... thought ti looked good, great pictures but thought a couple of write ups wer average. But yet again its the first edition and there is only one way to go with it.......and thats to get better with every edition.

Still struggling to get hold of it in WA... does anyone know if there is a newsagent that actually stocks it? Have been trying most of the ones around the Midland/Guildford/Bassendean area with no success.

have you asked if they can order it in for you? it took my local news express about two weeks to get in it,

For the Brisbane people - Newsagency at Sunnybank Plaza have about 5 copies left ..

Looks good, nice to see some local info. :thumbsup:
Shame nothing on the Super 7 Series - dates etc
Also hope to see more from the other states..
But as said it is only the first of many, i'll be keeping an eye out for them.

How often they coming out ??

Every 2 months - But that's if you read the subscription bit - 6 Issues

It's a top notch magazine and a very nice layout, not just for an Aussie mag - but as a mag in general.

Good to see and Aussie magazine...Looks good...Good layout...Plenty of Tourney info, Bit dissapointed about the lack of information on the other form of the sport, Bush ball.

I think that pretty much sums it up...

Paintball is a "Sport"
Skirmish is a "Game"

I agree but that dosen't make one better than the other as many seem to think. In fact without the masses playing bush ball every weekend around the country there would be no sport for you guys to play. I think it would be fair to say that in would be over 95% of players playing in the bush in Australia. Those are the guys funding the sport side of the game and these are the guys that fill the ranks on the sup air fields. The mag runs the risk of failing if it dosen't make itself appealing to the broadest range of players possible, so if it's not 50/50 they are crazy. They also have to look at first time players and give the average Joe in the news agent a reason to buy it.

The funny thing is that most new players don't want to go down the supair trail they want, what they know, and like. I made a huge mistake for along time turning my back on this type of player. Now I'm of the veiw that it's all about little steps, and making sure players have the ability to play the game at the level and way they want so that they want to stick with it and check out other aspects of the game.

The other thing while I'm on my soap box it the attitude of the tournament players at the moment. They are turning into a bunch of smack talking, disrespectful,, wackers. You all need to clean it up, your not getho gangsters so what up with all the atitude of the field?

Nothing wrong with the bush at all, I'd think most of the older tourney ballers here would have gone through the evolution of Rec to Scenario to Local Comp and then onto National level of play (and some even International)

And thoes who skipped on the earlier stages are really missing out because all the above levels offer something different and add to your skill set for the upcomming level. Yes it can be a little militaristic at times but that's where the sport grew from, like it or not!

Gav is 100% correct in saying...

Those are the guys funding the sport side

....without the punters there is no tournament paintball. If you're a tourney player who's never played ball in 3 dimensional, rocky aussie bush where the paint comes from above, below and quite often behind you, you really need to give it a go (with a rental on Co2 BTW) and help the industry grow by supporting the ones that support us!

And as far as the smak-talking, hardcore, OG wannabes that Gav's dissin on; I cant speak for all and sundry but I've never lost my cool on the field, and anything that comes outta my mouth mid-game is all said in jest.

I have nothing but respect for ANY person wether clone, puppet, netural or otherwise.
