just alittle example of the RULES !!!! in appl :)
another words im having a little lookie and somethings have come to mind as i was pondering :)
1.3 paintmarkers
subclause 3
sentence 3
Only paintmarkers firing one shot per pull of the trigger are allowed.
No auto-response or similar units are allowed. No electro-pneumatic markers adjusted to fire more than one shot per pull of the trigger, or capable of being adjusted to fire so without tools on the field, are allowed.
Breaches will result in a 100 point penalty .
Electronically controlled paintmarkers shall be limited to a maximum fire rate of 13 balls per second !!!!!!!!!!!!!
So yas might as well leave yas halos etc at home as a revvy will do 13 balls per second which is all ya allowed to do :p
how can they inforce this law on the tourny and will it be so because i know a few markers that can be cranking well over 13 ;)

With this type of rule I am sure that the APPL wont be going around checking if everyones marker is set for 13 b/ps or less.
Most markers you cant tell anyway.. With the Angel LCD and ir3 you can, and I suppose all markers with some type of LCD display.
I would think that this type of rule may have something to do with the insurance condition?? I am only guessing.. In all aspects of paintball, not to many people can go more than 13 B/ps either, if so, the burst would not be that long..
Just my thoughts....:help:

I think that it is an old law taken from the NPPL which they have done away with now.We will have to see about that one later on:D
Being a person with a marker that cannot fire 13bps i feel that the rule should stand :D :D mainly so its easier for me to get to my barricade when jamie is shooting the timmy at my arse:D :D

Yes the 13 balls per second does currently exist in the rules. However for the first 2 tournaments, that rule has been suspended. As long as the markers are true semi autos, you will have no problems.
After a lot of feedback from members on this issue, the APPL committee we will vote for a formal rule change when it meets next.
Hope that clears it up.

Have you guys thought about adopting the Millennium Rules as they stand ?
Save having to have a rules committee to discuss changes, means we're moving to a global standard, etc, etc.

I personnally think this is definately the way to go..., at the end of the day WHEN... we sort all the stupid laws we have down here out and the sport here gets bigger more teams will want to compete abroad so if we play by the same rules then it makes sense eh!
why re-invent the wheel!

I agree, but some of our rules will always be a little different due to our stupid laws and other items like good ol' insurance stuffing us around. (bottle covers come to mind.) Other than that I think it would be best for all, especially the poor bastards on the APPL committee.
Plus.....................Bring on 7 minute games, yeah baby!

Millennium is still 10 minute games (last time I checked anyway :))
We've (as in NZ that is) have formally adopted the Millennium rules .... makes it a lot easier and all - just need to get use to it really.
As for having to have "local" rules in there - like bottle covers, etc ... seems reasonable. What you're looking for is the "how we play" rules + equipment rules in general - and Millennium covers that.
For those of you coming to NZ for Volcanic in Rotorua - those are the rules that you'll be using.

Yes the MS still has ten minute games...
John yes I totally agree there will be slight differences, i.e. bottle covers and the like but when we sort the international body, (and its on the way), we can put forward some of the rules we feel should be added too like the BC rule...
does anyone know if Martin Hamelman is still taking his team to Toulouse? if so good luck guys, your gonna have a ball....

7 min games, I reckon that is the go. If you haven't won in 7 get off the field. I mean come on 10 mins of guys sniping at each other is boring even for us to watch. So if your not pushing your losing and that is how it should be. Plus with only one field in play it is going to make for some huge time saving over the weekend of the comps.
The up side, exciting games and more of them.
The down side, sit and wait teams have trouble winning.
I can live with that.:D

bugga it make it 5 ;)
im keen :D
The NPPL Super Seven Series now runs 7 minute games, and I believe that the Millenium Series which now runs several of their legs as part of the Super Seven Series are doing the same thing.

Mike
NPPL is still 10 minutes in the prelims (according to the rules) - but believe that they've reduced the time to either 5 or 7 for the finals/semi's
Millennium is still 10 for everything.
Martin
SAPPA has been using 7 minutes for the last 18 months and it works a treat.

As cool as it is ... I am all for a global standard - next logical step really.

to be quite honest if all the other sports have one set of rules we
should follow :)
an international code would be much easier
and also international std for the damn markers too damn
customs :(
