We've decided to hold 6 rounds this year, and made 4 of them 2-dayers due to voting on our site for 2-day events over 1s. Full dates are as follows...
Round 1 - 12th March
Round 2 - 8th/9th April
Round 3 - 17th/18th June
Round 4 - 22nd/23rd July
Round 5 - 24th September
Round 6 - 4th/5th November
We'll be holding training sessions throughout the year aswell (dates to be announced along the way) - the first two training days being 5th Feb and 19th Feb.
Please visit propaintballshop.com.au for all the details, we'll be putting up a team registration form very soon so don't forget to register - remember that to be eligible for end of season prizes, your team must participate in at least 4 rounds. We'll also be adding field layouts to the website before each round and hopefully be producing a full-season DVD at the end of the series that will feature each team that makes a showing.
Last years series was a huge success and we hope to make it even better in 2006. Hope to see you all there.
Cheers... Spence.

Just thought we'd give everyone an update on the plans for the upcoming final round of the propaintballshop tournament series.
For those who weren't at the last round, we took a vote and decided to make the last event a 5 man. As was the case with last years final round it will also be played as the Hookem Cup.
Prize money for 1st place will be $5000.
Other cash and prizes are still being discussed.
Entry fees per team will be $900. $200 of this is to be paid on or before the 2nd of November, the Thursday before the comp.
Game format will be the same as the rest of the series - best of 3 games. Because of the expanded team sizes we will be allowing a 2 minute changeover to repod and regas.
Depending on team numbers we may look at trying to run 2 fields to turn over more games so everyone can get a lot of playing time.
More details to follow, so stay tuned.......
Can you confirm if its a one or two day event?

It would have to be a 2 day, If not it would be interesting to see how on earth they would fit all the games in as have trouble with that format when just 3-man.

Event im sure. The Angle for last years Hookem was for the event and not the series.
Oh who do i return the trophy to as I have it at my house or do i just bring it to the next event.
Can you confirm if its a one or two day event?
It's definately a 2 day event - 4th and 5th of November. Should have the field layout up today or tomorrow. We trained on it this past Sunday and it played well - there were a hell of a lot of run throughs to be sure. There will also be a training run a week before the event, on Sunday 29th October, for everyone to get a good look at the field before showtime.

*Prays theres no lay down running end to end again*
Ok, layout is up now at the tournament website (http://tourneys.propaintballshop.com.au/main.html).
Or, if you're lazy, just click here (http://tourneys.propaintballshop.com.au/archive/2006/rd6-field.html).

Is that a 3-man or 5 man field....doesn't quite look big enough...oh well good fun off the break!
Is that a 3-man or 5 man field...
I asked that question myself... But yes it is the 5 man field. It may be widened a little before the comp, but don't quote me on that.

Just under 2 weeks till we kick off the Hookem Cup so i thought it might be good time to get a rough idea of teams. Here's my rough guestimate of who might be coming:
Victorious
Tsunami
Awakening
Genocide
WB Air
Random Fire
Rat Pack
Empire/Hired Gunz???
OAF
Chicken Spankers
Looks like a good starting point but we would like to hear from a few of the Northern teams. drop me an email at info@propaintballshop.com.au if you are intersted in coming down.

Looks like it'll be a big fight for end of season honors too. We've topped up our normal Victorious 3 man lineup with Bones and Scooter to make up 5. And I hear Tsunami are employing the services of Tyddles and Ozzy to sneak past us in the race for 1st. Tied on points in the race for 3rd is WB Air and Awakening. Plenty of rivalries that will no doubt be spoilt by all the other teams vying for the big prize. Should be a huge weekend. we should get a good chunk of training in this Sunday to get a feel for the field.
