The prize pool is looking bigger and better so lets see who will be attending this one so those that come from far and wide know who is exactly comming.
The first round we got 10 teams better than rd 1 last year so a good sign.So Lets find out who will be attending.
Come on SWAD and CHOCK (alter ego teams from Syd) what about u guys.
We might be even lucky and get some Travellin Wilburys from SA
Or even Light Shower from QLD
And possible Rock Stars from WA (thats WA for Western Australia not WA i wanna go home).

Will be awesome to see Paintball Pete play again, he honoured a select few of us when he played a magnificant day of paintball on South Coast Fusion. I do remember you saying on that day tho Pete that you wouldnt be playing again for a long time. Will we be seeing you at the other end of the field more often now or just another one off? Whichever it is tho power to you :respekt:

Well we are just waiting on weather Trent can join Myself, Tyddy and BORGY Yes  we have secured for the weekend Simon Borg one of the leading players from the Syd X-fighters who will bring his fast pace and style of the X-Ball Format to Semoz's 3 Man Series, with Pete Spences introduction of 3 back to back games at a time at Rd 1, it will suit Borgy's style of play.
I am really looking forward to watching him play as a player on field, (no not from the Box i hope) and not from just the sideline as an AXL and a (Reffs Inc) Reff as i have done many times in the past.
GRANT Thank you for the comments in your posts, my attending this tourny is mainly about promoting the AXL and it's exciting and demanding style of play and to support my M8 Pete Spence, as i have shown by Reffing all his rounds last year, and now putting together some of the AXL's exciting players, Anthony (Tyddy)Tyddles Captain of the JETTS one of Australia's leading and long Time Paintball Team.
Simon (Borgy) Borg Ex Sydney Shock player and Now one of Australia's leading X-Ball players.
Myself Been around since the ark.
And Hopefully Trent who has supported the AXL in the Past and after watching Ethan, Blacky and Himself winning all of the rounds (4) at the 3 Man series last year, will be more than capable in being part of the team.
So answer your PMs Trent and let me know what u would like to do.
Well all we have to do is come up with a name for the Team, i will give a box of paint to anyone attending this 2 day round at Semoz who comes up with a deceant name, ( i am sure you all could come up with some intelligent names sorry no rude ones  )
So okay so we can help Spence out who's possibly comin.

How about "Team Alchemy" cos that sure is a witches brew of players there Pete!

Well Trent has informed me that he will be unable to play with us.
Seeing Sydney Shock will not be attending due to unforseen problems he will be teaming up with his team m8 Ethan and Aggsy to play as CK.
With Dave "BLACKY" Black being unable to play, Aggys from Sydney Schock will be more than a fillin to the team.
Now that Trent is unable to join the squad we have recruited the Vice-Captain from Victorian based X-Ball team X-Rated: Jason (OZZY) Ozerscki.

great work Chris.
the shed, pro shop and chrony area all look spot on.
Whats everyones thoughts on the "mandatory joining of the nppl" for these events? Its on the website.
It costs 50 bucks to join for the year.....
quote.... The Propaintballshop 3 Man Series is becoming an official NPPL Feeder Series. As a feeder series, it will receive great benefits from the league, including professional referees and NPPL promotion.
As a result, all players will require an NPPL membership in order to participate in the series, effective immediately. Membership costs a flat $50 yearly fee, and sign-up forms will be available at the Round 2 event. Members will then be able to participate in any NPPL event worldwide, including several Australian tournament series which are also becoming part of the feeder series.
As of next year, the benefits will include:
- A national NPPL sanctioned 5-Man series
- Professional Referees
- Training for Referees by professionals
- An international event with international teams in 2007
Membership benefits will include:
- Ability to play in any NPPL sanctioned event world wide
- Discounts on accommodation, car-hire etc

My immediate thought was... what will my $50 give?

Next thought was........ benefits for whom? Referee's for 4 x 3 man events?
Promotion to whom? > 99% of tourney players feed from here on BILLS
Professional = paid,,, who selects and who pays ?
I love some of you guys but I wouldn't give you 2 cents to ref.

As 5% play internationally I really dont see the membership use for the other 95% of us.
Several Australian tournaments ???
I might as well play for OS flights sometimes for the "cost" some interstate tourney organisers expect.

YOU want $50 for NEXT year ??? Kiss My Butt
Ref training? sounds good.
I will pay $50 once a year for ref's that can freaken see.
Training for ref's??? Isnt that what an optometrist is for ?
An event 2007 ?.... didnt you just say event series...as in plural... the paragraph is barely over and its gone from eventS to evenT.
Hey I thought this was a 3 man ??? Moving to a 5 man for next year will be good.
Membership benefits will include:
- Ability to play in any NPPL sanctioned event world wide
- Discounts on accommodation, car-hire etc
Excellent for those that travel ! Discounts to get to Moama ???, who has them or is this overseas only ?
All this seems for 2007 events............why do we need to pay in 2006 ?
BUT : I will pay $50 for ref's no issues as long as they aren't blind or deaf >> they are great guys even if they do allow bouncy markers from Sydney.

Mate if you think us refs do such a shitty job then why dont you give us the benifit of your years of experience and 20/20 vision and give us a bloody hand this week. It's very easy to critise but I believe that all refs are trying their bloody best at a very difficult job and really dont need any sideline backstabs like this as it only makes it harder for us to find people who will drive to Moama and give up a fun weekend of playing in order to help the tourny succeed:thumbsdow

I admit i can't see further than my feild of view and I can't ref for shit >
lighten up.
What is the typical Australian cry from the armchair umpires ??
YOU BLIND ump? NEED GLASSES ??? Whether it be football or paintball we all claim the umpires are blind.
When have i not supported you mate ?
I can't always be there to yell abuse, as i want to keep my house and business as well as the new wife for a bit longer :)
38C heat and total reliance on volunteers is what the whole point of what the professional refs is about.
People do and will fly from WA and Qld and then drive 3 hours to get there... it's a matter of timing and money.
It's not me wanting professional ref's....... so look elsewhere.
As for the bouncy markers, I think that "ears" are better than eyes when that happens. NO ONE can fire at 10 balls at 24pbs in a snap shot.
We are seeing the increase of ramp and bounce, hidden modes and loose barrels. This is another aspect of professional reffing.

Cant say Im a fan of the compulsory membership.
I dont see percieve any value to me as a consumer attending the series, being that I wont be playing any NPPL in the near future, and I suspect neither will 99.9% of the other players attending the series.
For me its the same as flushing the money down the toilet.
Like Hideous I dont see how 06 players should pay for the 07 ones.
Ill pay it if I have to play, cause I love the events and am as keen as mustard but do resent it.
Marco
03-04-2006, 07:47 PM
Yeah... Deadeye is right. Why do you need a membership to play a three man? I thought these tourneys are just for a little fun.
SCHRADER
03-04-2006, 07:47 PM
as a recently new player to paintball i think this is a joke, fair enough some money for the refs, but to have to pay to be a member of the nppl for 2006 when i know i will not be involved in any of the other events in the near future is rubbish.
camel
03-04-2006, 09:07 PM
Lets think about the bigger picture here guys.
Get behind this and it greatly improves our chances of getting big international teams over here for an international event.
That means greater exposure for the sport nationwide and for us aussie players on a world stage.
50 bux a years not all that much of an ask. Stay home from the pub one night a year and you'll pay for that!!!
I think the issue people have here is "Its supposed to be just a little fun 3 man comp".
Ive had quite a few calls from people asking me about this....
Personally, I dont think its needed, the nppl will be very unlikely to send anyone, team or refferee to a little 3 man comp, no matter what they promise now.
Bottom line, I dont feel we will see value for our 50 bucks, to be forced to join the NPPL so we can play the 3 man isnt what I like to see....now if you asked for voluntary members, that would be different.
My 2 cents.....
I will pay the 50 to support Peters event....but it dosent mean Im happy about it...
I would rather pay a little more entry fee and see bigger/better prize pool or even see the reffs compensated for their time and effort.
Hideous
03-04-2006, 11:03 PM
Another thing... Pete is supporting tourney's.
After all his expenses in setting up the last thing he needs is making a huge loss so we can glory on the day.
What the nppl entry is for is to generate numbers to prove that YOU are interested in the sport and get US teams down here without having to pay them.
Pete can throw money at it... but any US support will be based on paid up nppl members.
Here is a chance to play paintball US style. Think you are good enough.. then join up to try your luck :)
Or in Deadeye's case ..badluck :armed:
Grant
04-04-2006, 11:00 AM
I agree with Neil, pay lil bit more entry for 3-man and get paid reffs and better prizes. And steve, hideous wasn't backstabbing he was saying what he thought loud and clear for every1 to hear  . If the 3-man becomes a 5-man event then the $50 would be fair enough as i know you have to pay a certain amount for SAPPA's(correct me if im wrong). I see benifits if we get overseas players and reff's in however i too cannot see them attending a 3-man especially without having to pay them. However if it does grow sport and make it bigger quickly and better id happily pay the $50
Wol-Gran
04-04-2006, 11:24 AM
I will admit im for the NPPL membership because it will give a lot of support for the sport in Australia
Sure the 3 man is more of a social event but its not going to hurt to pay an extra $50 at this next event.
Thats only $10 extra for the remaining 5 events this year!
Anyways i will be at the next tourney this weekend and i will be joining coz i want the sport to grow!
Ok here's the deal (from what I understand at this point)...
The goal of all this is to use the clout and the name recognition that the NPPL has to try to grow the sport of paintball in Australia. It's true the results may not be seen until next year, but to get to see results as soon as possible, gears need to start moving as soon as possible - hence the membership requirements. Several other ongoing series in Aus will also be becoming feeder series, so membership will also be required for entry to those. Don't ask me which other tournaments they are, I don't know the specifics.
An event 2007 ?.... didnt you just say event series...as in plural... the paragraph is barely over and its gone from eventS to evenT.
It is NATIONAL eventS (plural) and INTERNATIONAL evenT (single) next year.
The current plan is to take a 5-Man series around the country next year, making it a national event series, but the 3 Man series will be staying in Moama. The NPPL itself will be holding an International event in the country in 2007 (location as yet undecided) with teams from the US and everywhere else.
I think the most immediate purpose of the membership is the growth of the referees here. I don't know the timeframe, but under the feeder series scheme, NPPL referees will be both refereeing events here and providing training to our referees.
As for promotions, it's all about getting more people here to play. If Australian tournament series are featured on the NPPL website and other advertisements, we may see teams travelling here to compete and therefore add a lot of credibility to the Aus tourney scene.
Hopefully that helps a bit. I don't know all the specifics as I said, but I have had a long conversation about it with Spence, and that is the understanding I have.
