View Full Version : Moderation - Too Much? Too Little?
The question of the level of moderation on this site has arisen again.
Currently we have various levels of moderation here, ranging from fairly strict in resources to bugger all in Spam Arena.
As has been pointed out today (and happened in the past too) serious threads seem to end up getting trashed, or taken off topic and turn to crap.
So a few questions.
- Are many here finding threads being trashed a problem?
- What level of Modding is appropriate for Members and Tourney? More, Less or the same?
- Should we leave members as is, move/start any serious posts to rec or tourney (depending on topic) and raise the level of modding in there?
- Is the level of Modding in Resources right?
A problem with Modding more strictly (besides the time involved) is that you always get some idiot(usually the same few) ranting and raving about Bias or Censorship when something is done that they dont quite agree with.
So, dont be shy. Post your comments and espically your suggestions here.
If theres not much of a response we know things are ok :)

If I see something that looks and sounds off or crappy I'll give it its due and respond  or I'll just give it it's true worth as i see it  and ignore it. But from me. you guy's are doing a great job.

It all seems to work good, one thing I would like to complain about though, when I first joined I made a joke in one of the for sale threads and got a 25% warning, I learnt quickly not to do that, but is it really fair that it gets stuck permanently against your name, it should be made to wear off in a couple of months or so, or does It do that??
Apart from that, I think it should be kept the way it is :D

Thumbs up here
It's never easy as a Mod, and there will allways be someone who you've done wrong by.
You give the opportunity for people to have open discussions about something we're all passionate about, and just like any other forum, if someone turns it into a personal shit slinging match you can 'em.....
I'll go against the grain here...
Big ups to Bill for getting this site going and keeping it there :respekt:
I feel there should be more modding but not of the banning type. Deletion of posts and edditing of posts should occour more often with reasons why and warnings given.
Many other forums have quite a severe modding policy and it seems to work for them.
Spam is Spam tho, leave it go until you can see ti getting too far.
How about introducing a "No play no Mod" policy

i'm with Ben here too...
more mod work in TOURNY/REC (these are seen by browsing public), get rid of ANY off topic posts, and boot repeat offenders... :whip:
MEMBERS could get a little more mod work (it seems to turn into a slinging match regularly, and not necessarily about paintball)...
SPAM... open slather (with a PG rating)... :evil
and give simple reasons for deleting posts/moving posts/banning, it serves as a reminder to all and a warning to some...
you guys are doing a great job... keep it up

I wouldn't say more modding is needed.
I think its up to the members to stop taking every thread off track.

Anyone of those abovementioned people would have more supporters than detractors on here, which can't be said for yourself.
The only thing that is "ridiculous" hereabouts, is you.
