Easy enough to do....cost you about $2.00, if that in bits.
I've just found that it does last as long in one of my Halos.

I've been running this mod for about 9 months now without a drama.
yeah I know how easy it is, just see alot of people who run the aa's still and just wanted to get the news out of an alternative:thumbsup:

tell me more about this mod
I'll post some pics if you like, or be happy to make one for anyone who is interested. Basically link two nine volts in parallel then hook them up to the snap clip inside the reloader/halo. Tape batteries together and put a little piece of sponge/foam in to stop them rattling round.

Please give pics and diagrams of how this is done and how long it took you as many people will be interested.

get three 9v connectors.take two and twist wires together(black to black, red to red), then take the third and put the black wire to the two reds and the red to the two blacks.take out the aa battery case and plug it in the third connector to the exsisting wiring.solder and heat shrink is the best way. took me about five minutes.u can get the gear for any dick smith or tandy
zyhin is spot on guys, if people still need pics after that post again. Also try to get the hard battery clips instead of the soft covered ones, there much stronger. Found the hard plastic ones at GayCar

didn't know u could get hard one, soft one r shit they pull the wires out all the time
go to jay car, the hard ones have the wire threaded through a hole in the plastic which makes them tougher, plus the little extra thickness of the cap makes it easier to pull off

Sounds like a good idea. Might give it a go
A team mate of mine back in nz runs this setup with some killer rechargables he got off ebay - he hasn't had a single prob. Saves on buying a dozen aa's everytime a tourney comes round.....

Not only that, but now I just purchase 9 volt batteries.Saves on carrying different types too.

go the rechargeable powerex batts, their great. they r 9.6v so, as they run flat they goto 9v as standard batts do even run at 9v, more like 8.6v

You can buy rechargeable batts from Tim & Gav in a packet with a charger. They work well

Well since everyone is doing it, I got bored and sick of one of my players always forgetting to bring extra AA batteries so i actually got all the parts to hook up the two 9 Volt batteries and you don't need tape these actually hold both batteries securely, it even fits into the battery compartment easily enough. i have a couple of working prototypes at the moment.
it cost just on $7.50 to make and you basically convert your halo or reloader(still operates at 9 volts) It just plugs straight into the clip already present and its even full proof with only 9 volt battery recepticles so you can't go wrong....if you want some made up or want more info pm me.
p.s.This will help the paintballers out there so basically $7.50(parts) plus postage and its yours.

Do you get more power usage out of it??

Well I ran a halo on dual 9 volts constantly for about 2 hrs with no issues(got sick of the noise it was making to leave it on for much longer) and no sign of slowing down and I will test the proto type holder this sunday under "sort of" match conditions(training) and see how it goes.

Not too bad we did a few basics and then shook the absolute crap out of it....batteries stayed clipped in didn't miss a beat........

Just a thought guys, I may do this if I get a Reloader, but you can fit 3 9v batteries in the compartment. 2 on their side & one liying on top. tried it for space and had no dramas. Just means you'll get a lot longer life before needing to change, which could be good for X-Ball or scenario games.
Just a thought if anyone wants to try it

If you are doing the mod where you plug your new harness into the existing harness you need to go black/red & red/black. Other wise you give it reverse polarity.
There is a post towards the start of this thread that explains it.
Hey G, I've got a few made up, you can have one if you cant be bothered. You need to get 3 connectors. Connect two together, + to + and - to - (red to red, black to black). These are for your 2 9 volts. connect the third black to red, red to black (opposites). This is to clip into the original harness that clipped into the aa pack. If you follow the charge back to the reloader/ halo harness you'll notice that the connectors themselves reverse the charge sides when conected together. This is due to the shapes the connectors are. The small clip (+) plugs into the big clip (-) (this is why you change it. See you sunday mate.

What ya need to do is connect the positive of both batteries together and like wise with the negatives........check with a multimeter and you should have anywhere from 9volts and below anything else dramatically above this could and will be bad for your hopper...when i get time i will post part numbers of the parts you will need from Jaycar and you can make your own!!!

So I am still unsure of the advantage of this? Is it just so that you have all the same batteries? Cause the guy at my local hobby/jaycar shop said that the AA will last a lot longer than two nine volts. Also, SuperStar: Where did you get that double nine volt holder from? I cannot find one anywhere! No where stocks are can get them in.

Yes its true that "AA" should batteries last longer the advantage is that you only need to buy one type of battery and carry only one type of battery spare......the dual 9v battery holder I made with parts from jaycar, they have all the parts you need, if you ask them for 9v battery holders they will show you a miriade of them, the ones you want have two silver prongs coming out from the back those are the ones you need. if you want instructions pm me and i will gladly help out:lol:

Its really upto you. I made it up because one of my players always forgets to bring extra batteries with him so to fix this i made him up the craddle it works a treat and with the victory board you don't loose your settings and you can still run it on one 9volt battery...not very long but it can be done.
I reckon its worth the outlay of the whole $5-8 just to save on stuffing around because you can always find 9volt batteries when ya need them.
Modded both my empires a fair while ago (1 tourney and about 3 training days) and hopper still goin strong on same pair of nine volts. Total cost of mod <$10:thumbsup:

Thanks for the help, I made one of thise 2x 9v packs, Only the only thing, I had to use tape to connect them together, I see form the pics, that you use screws to connect the housing inplace, Were can i find these screws, Taping them together doesn look too good.
