Waiting on licence (Qld)

How long did it take everyone to update the conditions on their licence to include PB1 in Queensland?
Do they call you or do they send out a new licence, I don't want to call Weapons Licencing because they put ur file at the bottom of the waiting list.

They send out a whole new licence with the new category.
It takes time, call them and see if they even have it yet - that's why I fax all of mine through, follow that with a phone call and you're sure they have it.

How long did it take total SniperWolf? Myself and Crazy are just about to submit PB1 forms ourselves and it would be nice to know if I'm likely to see my new marker before Xmas. :clap:

PB1 Forms take 8 days
then your PTA Forms take a mandatory 28 days - However you can ask for special consideration "Plz plz plz let me have it now"

OK well Crazy went in to lodge his PB1 forms today and was promptly told by the 2 guys from firearms that he didn't need to, markers are still classed as an A class firearm and therefore didn't need the other clause.

Oh god how I hate this completely ^$&$^#&$( system we got here in QLD.

No-one seems to agree depending on who you ask.
Still if they going to give us the PTA's then I can live with it...

Most police stations/officers dont know the weapons licensing act too well.

Call them 3364 6464 - ask for Weapons licencing and then for Dawn, I think.
There is a female in there who really knows her stuff.

You do need PB1 in QLD

Refer to the Weapons Licencing FAQ, it will tell you pretty much everything you need to know, remember its not your general duty officers down the local police station that gets the final approval, its weapons licencing, so make sure you do it right or they'll reject your PTA.

The Rocky police wouldn't even accept Crazy's PB1 forms. We'll need to wait till they reject his PTA so we can convince them of it's need. :(

screw the rockhampton police... ring wapons licening division Police HQ in Brisbane..report the officers name and badge number, then ask for a letter from them and just present your case...you know you are right...just do it

Yep Scott from Weapons branch called and said I needed the PB1 on the liscence so I got that sorted with teh local guys and am now waiting ( with baited breath) for the PTA to arrive.

I waited at the front reception of the City Police station (Brisbane), which is where Weapons Licensing has moved to, for 30 minutes and the whole time the front desk was unattended.

I ended up leaving my PTA on the desk, but I could have easily reached over and opened the main door and walked it in myself ;)

2/ Call them 2 days later asking if they have it, all you have to do is give them the PTA number in the top right corner.

I purchase both paintball markers and regular firearms and have no issues with the turnaround offered by them. I got my last PTA 4 working days after I faxed it.

police know sh@t about the gun laws and stuff if you want good quick answers ring the weapons registry they know everything

Yep Same here
My Qld licence took 2 -3 weeks to come back with Cat A, B, PB1, SC1 & RE1
and my PTA took about a week. :)

They must give you what you request? Mine only states catagory A - PB1 and it was issued 32 days after lodgement just missed my birthday n all :cry: and the pta took 28 days.:thumbsup: But one of the other guy's on the team had to wait 3mths for his license...

also i want a licence for rifles an dpaintball gun, do i have to get two seperate licences or can i get them put on one licence, i dont knwo much about it, the sytem is pretty F%#^ked up

you need to be a member of a club if you want just your SC (Sporting Club) conditions. In your application form - http://police.qld.gov.au/Resources/Internet/programs/weaponsLicensing/documents/Form1.pdf

Go to Question 10. (Genuine Reason) - Tick Sports or Shooting Club

Then fill out this form (Annexure) twice -

First form been your PB1 Conditions (Enclose your Paintball field letter)
Second form been your SC Conditions. (Enclose your Shooting Club letter (Different to PB Letter))

lol, i know that i only have to do 1 saftey course but for some reason i thought you could only have 1 geuine reason for having a gun whether that be spirts recreational, or work, but i did the saftey cousre today and passed and i asked the bloke and he said all you have to do is fill out the genuine resons that you want ie: sports and recreational and you will have top pay a littl ebut more, lol i dont know why i didnt just think of that myself.
