Please read all of this, it will save me getting asked too many silly questions that are answered here:)

Well the new version of the forums software went gold today so I will probably update it over the long weekend.

This is a major update so the forums will be offline for a while.
For 20 or 30 minutes if all goes well, to a day or so if it dies and I have to mess around with reverting to a backup.

Afterwards, some things will be missing or broken (in particular the ability to login and add events and fields) but they will be reinstalled or have the loging script recoded over the next few days.

The main site index page will have any progress (or lack of) reports even when the forums are down.

For those that enter directly by the forums, that is;
http://www.billspaintball.com

All posts, postcount, PM's, permissions, pictures ect should be uneffected by this upgrade, however if there is a problem and I have to revert to a backup the last hour or two of posts, PM's etc will be lost.

NOTE: If you have problems logging in or staying logged after the upgrade just force a hard page refresh (Shift + F5) or just flush your cache in your browser settings. This is becase your browser may have cached the javascript and cookies from the old forums which will not work with the new version.

Any questions or comments, fire away.

First off,
do a hard refresh and clear your cache!
This will fix about 90% of all problems.
(Shift + F5 or Ctrl + F5 in your browser usually)

Ok, I will be bringing back some old hacks and adding new ones over the next week or so. The old hacks died on the upgrade and need to be redone.

If you have any suggestions on additions/hacks please start a new thread in this section.

The upgrade itself was fun......
Not :(

The database update script spat the dummy 1/2 way through and I had to manually edit a bunch of tables. Not fun.

Anyhow were up and running now so enjoy.
