now i know that one has to get a licence to buy and own a marker but if i already have a firearms licence with class B weapons on it (paintmarkers are class A) then do i still need to get the letter ect all i would need is a permit to aquire. is this correct?

thanks

Speak to your local Firearms office and they will let you know.

In NSW you need a seperate Paintball license to own a marker.

In S.A. paintball guns are under class A which and are classified as an "air gun"

yeah were in WA. i had never heard of a class "E" weapon befor, what else falls into that category?

non automatic .22 centrefire rifles and side by side and over and under shotguns are also considered class A

Actually it is more accurate to say Class A classified 'with' airguns.

As paintball guns are recognised as a firearm in their own right but are grouped in this category by the SA Police.

Haha funny you should ask...Check this out...Straight from W.A. firearms act

Category E
E1 a cannon
E2 a captive bolt
E3 a line thrower
E4 a tranquilliser
E5 any firearm that is not of sub-category E1, E2, E3 or E4, or category
A, B, C, D, or H (includes paint ball marker)

Interesting stuff ;)
