Volumisers!! What are they used for???

giving enough room for liquid gas to expand, therefore preventing a "cold shot" (where liquid gas fires in the marker). Not as usefull these day, cause we don't use CO2 no more.

You just described what an Expansion Chamber does. Correct me if I'm wrong...:o

I might be wrong but I thought that a Volumiser is an expansion chamber by another name????

After some research I found the following about volumisers:

Markers are prone to have a drop in pressure during rapid fire which lowers the velocity. To reduce this you can add a Volumiser to your Angel to add an additional air pocket. Thus, during rapid fire the marker will have more air to work elimanating ai"

Hybrid Ratio Volumiser Lowers the operating pressure of your marker from 250 psi - 220 psi. While giving better air efficency, and a further trajectory. An almost 50% gas efficiency improvement!

So it seems that the volumiser is different from an expansion chamber. It seems to reduce operating pressure, drop off and air useage, while increasing range. I might get one of these for my timmy

And where on the marker does these lovely things go

on a timmy, it would be infront under the barrel - where the LPR is..

same on an Angel.

The volumiser will increase the amount of pressurised air your marker can draw from for whatever purpose it will effect depending on where it is fitted, it can be fitted to different places to achieve different results. This will also allow the air to be required at a lower pressure than previously. When the valve opens the air on the other side will start to drop at a rate dependent on the size (volume) of the chamber of air behind it and how fast it can flow through the valve. If the chamber is bigger, removing a set amount of air through the valve (ie; enough to fire the ball) the pressure during this phase will not drop as much because you have a bigger amount of that pressurised air to draw from. Therefore the flow of air during this dwell cycle will be more constantly at a higher pressure from start of dwell to finish so therefore in the same amount of time you will be able to pass more air through the valve therefore you can drop the pressure behind the valve to achieve the same result as you had before you fitted the volumiser.

Gav, knock it off - you're making my brain hurt :p

Now, in english for the non-rocket scientist types ? :D

Would it be 'joombish' to explain it as..

" A reserve of low pressure air - ready for the gun to use.. so that it is not starved during the firing cycle.. " ?

So where would i put in on the A4???

Under the barrel I believe.

There are to possible places to put one on an a4 the first is with on the right while looking down the barell the other is on the left looking down the barell this is where you put it if you want it to work. Use the biggest one you have.

Yeah try to stay away from putting one on the LPR (left side looking from back of marker) on an A4 as the LPR piston is too restrictive on the A4 for a volumiser to be a benefit and can, on some, be detremental to performance. ;)

can you get them for a sniper?
