Yes they can but do yourself a favour and go for air as it is a lot more
friendly to the o-rings in the marker than CO2 especially if hitting high
rates of fire . With air systems in the low $300.00 range now they are
easily affordable

Thanks guys,
I do have a comp air system and a few C02 bottles, but i can not get a full days just on air,
I dont own a scuba tank so i normaly fill it up at a mates place. I was wondering if I could switch half way through the game..
Looks like its time to buy a scuba tank

Also not a good idea. Because:
1 Most markers run o-rings around the bolts.
2 Co2 causes o-rings to swell.
In this case 1 + 2 = Marker freezes up mid game or doesn't work at all.
Sorry mate.

No.
Playing on an unauthorised field would be illegal.
Its just there is no store in town which fills scuba.
Its even harder when you do not have a padi ticket to get them filled.

That's right Karma. Not everyone has access to HPA. Sometimes CO2 is the only option however unpleasant.

I have found that most scuba places will fill a tank even if you dont have a Padi ticket. Just let them know that you want to use it for paintball. It's allways worked for me.

Townsville Skin Diving in Townsville Queensland have a few 3000psi scuba tanks in test for $200. Don't know how much the frieght would cost. They also sell air compessors

Teflon "o" rings will fix this if you must play without air.............they must be the exact size of the originals though
