air pressure

quick questoin fellas, if running a hp preset, would this affect the marker (timmy). doesnt the front reg regulate wat air pressure goes into the marker anyways, therefore does it really matter if it hits the reg at 800psi rather than 400?

I asked the same question at atomix when i bought the A-bomb and was told by the techs that it just makes the reg work harder and does no damage.
