I am wondering what is available for scenario games besides grenades.
I was surfing and found the land or trip mines,
Are these available in Australia.

We had a scenario game where we booby trapped trails and the presidents vehicle with party poppers.
You remove the confetti and replace it with flour so when they trip the line the cord pulls and they are covered withflour.
Range about 1.5 to 2 meters.

I've heard about these mines that apparently work like a claymore. They hold about 14 paintballs and are powered with a soad bulb (or similar). They're directional ie this side towards enemy but have never seen them over here

There are Heaps of web sites with detailed instructions on how to make them, Maybe an alternative to buying them and getting them shipped here especially if they are deemed illegal, You wont see them or the money.
Have seen 2 home made ones go off and was jumping around like a school kid both times, However the piercing of the soda bulb is quite dangerous and it seems to me that the government loves taking away all our fun so I cant see that they would let us play with them.
I have seen many on the net that have fans in them and have motion sensors installed so if the unsuspecting opposition walk past and trigger the "mine" everything in a 30ft square radius is completely covered. :twisted:

I reckon these would be more fun, Reloadable and less likely to attract bad attention as there are no explosive parts in them.

The whole idea is to enhance scenarios, of which i know most of you are not interested in.
THC .. Dont blow this out of proportion. the mines are not real, they are another paintball device useing compressed air to spray paint
From what I have seen guns have been killing and maiming people around the world too (oops they are called markers) so get off your high horse.

And as far as making your own?? I believe that only if it is legal and it is safe should anything be used.

Making any of these things is dangerous so much infact that they are banned because they don't want people to get hurt they don't want people setting them up on their front yard to scare off dogs or anything else they don't want there,

You may own a paintball marker it may shoot semi Automatically or via a Pump Action. You can buy these legally and they have been tested so as not to blow up or cause damage to a person, Please don't make anything unless you are going to get it proffessionally and you are licenced to do so.

Just let go, or buy in island such as Tas and turn the whole place into a mine filled luxury island full of people that to don't like Camels

The situation here is 99% of the ppl here are Tournie players. No reason for us to want Mines. Senario players are the only ones that would want these in country. Tournie players want to distance themselves as far away from the rambo/commando image that everyone puts us in everytime we say we play paintball :hammer: Having mines to play with only enhances that image.

yeah.... i dont think that something like a balloon filled with paint is going to get he laws changed and it looks about as safe as it gets but i would definately stay away from ones with the soda bulbs or anything dangerous. i think as long as people use some common sense it shouldnt be too much of an issue, and i cant see that everyone will instantly start using a hundred landmines in every rec game they play. just make sure if anyone uses anything to clean them up after play. dont want anyone accidetally stepping one one.

I think that some people forget that paintball started as a war game and that the people that hike down to their local field on a sunday, want to play war games. I dont think that will ever be eliminated from paintball, and I dont see a problem with that, so long as it is safe and controlled. Everyone on here abusing the rec players forget that most people start paintball playing in the bush and if you force them to think that all pro paintballers are arrogant and narrow minded, they wont want to play pro ball, and that wont do the sport any good at all.

I dont think there is a problem with rec ball V tourni players. What the problem is ......is LANDMINES. This sport IE: Paintball, (of any type) because of our backward laws, has to abide by those laws. And associating Landmines with paintball will only attract the eyes of Pollies! & they dont make decisions wisely, they make them on what THEY think the rest of Australia thinks they want or what they think will get them into a job at the next ellection.

Just think how it would sound in the papers if someone was caught importing a paintball Landmine... "Man caught importing Landmines" the newspapers will build it up to the hilt to sell papers! straight away people look and read. then it mentions paintball in there.........association of that kind, we DO NOT WANT!

Yes I agree Knackers, 100%. We have done quite a bit in the last 10 years to get this sport moving in the right direction, and we need to do all we can to keep a positive spin on the paintball experience in the eyes of those that want to bring it down, and believe me, there are a lot of people out there that want to make paintball fail.

Just remember that someone that has played the game once, wants to play in the bush with the camms on. 1st time players dont always want to step up to the plate and play comp, thats all I meant. We shouldnt attack those that do that, we just need to steer them in the right direction and make sure, as a collective, that we monitor those new players and ensure they dont do something silly and spoil it for everyone.

still and all -customs might be a bit of a bother...

as a so called 'woodsballer' who has jsut got into teh sport - i orginally thought that i would much prefer woodsball and the 'realism' aspect - but there is something satisfying about the faster firing markers... sending a string at someone is rather fun... although for now i still enjoy the hunt... - what would be good is if some guys got together and organised a Woodsballers Event - 2 days 7 or 10 man games - large feilds. -i Find that the feilds in woodsball are the most important bit -too much scrub and it breaks down into 5 metre elims - too little and it feels like you are playing out in the open.... If a feild down south (forest country) got their act together we could have some good events...

just my thoughts..
