Gday again to all,I need some advice on the purchase of a chrony: I have noticed some are extremely expensive but have found some retailing at $120.00 Aust. This was quoted at Paintball Plus and I am pretty sure was called a SPORT SENSOR CHRONY? ,Now I need to know if these cheaper type of Chrony's are accurate or is it better to spend a bit more on a chrony for accurate readings???. Anyone used/bought one of these cheaper ones?

you can get a hand held one from action paintball
for about 160 bucks
i think
We just got the new VL chronys in dude, they sell for only $65.00 and when we tested them they were spot on with our big red Radar unit. Simply place on the end of your barrel and shot. Also has a cool shot counting feature.
Here are the details........
A very compact player friendly way to make sure your marker is shooting at the proper fps of the field on which you are playing. Mounts directly on barrel with diameters 7/8" to 1-1/16". Measures velocity on every shot and counts numbers of shots fired. Easy to read hi-tech digital display and simple button interfacefor quick operation even while wearing protective gloves. Two AA batteries included.
Man, the new gear keeps getting cheaper all the time
Call us at Action Paintball Games on 02 9679 0011, we have 3 different types of Chrony in stock! :D

Well ,I have spent a while recently reading many reviews on these cheaper type crony's that you STRAP to the end of your barrel and most reviews state that they dont really give accurate readings!?.
Well mate we tested one next to the big $500 Red radar chronies that we use at all our tournaments and found a variation of less than 1-2 FPS between the two units. Shot after shot, pretty much spot on..................................
I'm pretty sure if you went to action and asked mike he would be able to show you them both together
Hey, why didn't I think of that?
Thanks Pyro

Sorry cant do that ,I live in West Australia and all the Chrony's here are too expensive!.I dont want to spend a fortune on one but one that gives correct readings as it will also be used for my (LICENCED) air rifles too!.

just get the handheld, yellow/green chronos, they work awesome, and can fit in your toolbox easily. they are about the size of a cell phone.
