View Full Version : 05 Speed
ok, who has one? what are they like? i heard there were some issues about chopping? I would go and test one but i dont know anyone who has one here in SA.
Action uses these guns as backwall rentals, they're awesome. Havent had too many problems with them chopping paint while I reff (the odd joombie ball usually)... and thats with rental hoppers feeding inconsistently too. Very fast and lightweight, with usual Angel touches... easily accessible breach makes for quick cleaning, quick on/off switch, simple to use... and they're all still working excellently in a rental enviroment  .
The 05 Speeds are our most popular back wall guns at Action now.

Because you don't have Timmys as rentals.
I saw an 05 Speed chop once on Sunday using Vein.

You cant go past an angel ..
But if you want to wait a little while the new G7 comes out towards the end of the month.
Heres some info -
The G7 will differ from the current generation A4's and Flies in the placement of the solenoid, which will go from the top back of the marker to a side mounting scheme, allowing the body to be milled more. It'll also utilize the current generation '05 Speed trigger frame, rubber panels on the front of the minireg and front of the grip frame, and the battery will be a smaller unit than the current one in use. Rather than using a pull knob to open the roto-breech, a lever will be used instead.
The software used in this marker will be significantly faster than even the pro-Only 3.7 (current Flys use AF 3.5) due to improvements in the eyes and the programming that controls them. The eyes use a visible laser break beam system rather than the previous IR beam. This eye will be retrofittable to previous eye versions.
Eyewitnesses say the marker is so tiny that it resembles a large handgun.
Ken Crane, one of the US Master Techs, sent along these bits of information regarding the new marker:
Ok, the question has been asked about the battery life with the new brighter "laser" eyes. The impact on battery usage will be negligable. All that has been done is shift from a non visable portion of the light spectrum to a visible beam.
The bolt is now 5mm longer in its length and travel.
When the breach closes it moves the bolt 3mm forward to prevent ball rollback.
The feed neck has now gone to a 1 piece rubber collar instead of the orings.
The mini reg uses a slightly different spring style and now flows 3x more air.
The 14 way is mounted sideways and uses no manifold plate for a lower profile and more direct air flow.
The ram shaft and hammer are now made of aluminum for lighter reciprocating mass.the exaust valve assembly is totaly redesigned.
The board is the same as the fly with the speed trigger system and totaly new faster software.
The exaust port opening is double what it was in the fly.
The g7 uses the same 4.8 volt nmh battery that is aprox 2 oz lighter and smaller in profile
Lots of differnt opinions on the maximum rate of fire - some say 39 bps, others 49 bps....

They absolutely rock, but as with any angel the ram needs to be adjusted properly, especially with a force feed hopper, or they can be a little nasty to the paint. Set the ram so the pin sits quite firmly against the back of the groove on the hammer. People don't know how to set angels up properly then blame the marker for their inabilities.

Speed 05 rocks like a devil :emad: but it is right the gun will chop often, a team (we often train again) they all have speed 05 and if the paint is not the best they have great problems with choping.

THEY DON'T CHOP PAINT. Leave the eyes on and they won't chop paint. If yours is or you see someones doing it then they haven't set the marker up properly. Between the three on my team I think we would have broken a total of about twelve balls between us since last November. Unless you own one and know what your talking about why post on here trying to influence someone thinking of buying one.

1 of ours on the weekend shutoff, all u have 2 do is take the grip off oppostite side of batteryand get a little bit of duck tape in a square shape and put it over one of those little holes that was under the grip but on the marker. This should stop it from doing it again.

I just posted on angel-owners.com the better fix for this problem. No I don't use a freak. Use either the infinity barrel or Boomy but just ordered a Scepter barrel kit too.
