There will be no official camerman/woman. However we encourage people to bring down their own camera's and tape/click away :thumbsup: . In saying that, the camera people have to abide by and directions of the reffs and can't be seen to be interfering with the game :hammer: . Following a player who is trying a crawl up the snake for example. Pretty straight forward stuff.

From SAPPA Newsletter:

2005 has had a barnstorming start. With 16 teams, 11 of which are Div 2 it was the biggest SAPPA tourney in quite some time. Played at Adrenalin Paintball Sportz for the first time and with so many new teams, it was going to be an interesting day.
A few teams decided to come down the day before to get a lay of the land, which was a good idea, as it lessened the confusion that can sometimes take place at a new venue.
The day started a little behind time due to membership and team registrations. However once the paperwork was sorted it was time to put some strings in the air.

It was a furious start with all teams wanting to dominate the first round. Welt and Night Shade came out doing ‘Mach 3’ with their hair on fire. Big things were expected of Tsunami the winners of round 1 AXL Open Air Extreme. Kaoz is always a force to be reckoned with and debuting was Victorious. Div 1 was going to be intense.
Div 2 started with vigour. Last years winners Enigma took no time in showing some authority but it didn’t come easy as Cyclone, Rogue Elements and Fallout were in hot pursuit. New comers TYTO were the dark horses knocking over Enigma in the first half of the day playing planned and surgical games.
As master chefs Cobi and Liesl fired the BBQ up, the air compressor was straining. I was informed previously to the tournament that it may not keep constant 3000 PSI fills and was happy to hear Ricky had a contingency plan. He had pre ordered dive cylinders just in case. Although a little inconvenient having to bulk off the compressor and top off a dive tank it was better than having no air at all.
After lunch it was on again. Div 1 saw a showdown between Welt and Night Shade. Kaoz threatening. Tsunami, always strong were hovering mid place and team Victorious played a lot better than the scoreboard showed. In the end Welt took top honours in an impressive days play.

While it’s always great to watch the Div 1 teams duel, I thought some of the real action was played in Div 2.
Ballistic, TYTO, and Cyclone were all playing hard for a good placing. Fallout and a show of strength from Rogue Elements were nipping at the heels of Enigma. I also enjoyed watching the rookie teams breaking from the start box using rental spyders and tippman 98’s, shaking the hopper furiously to get a decent feed. The joy of a first flag grab and hang. The unrelenting enthusiasm that these teams have is fantastic. I asked a few of the teams how they went at the end of the day. One response was. “We came here to try and win one game, we did, the last one!” asked if they would be back “Hell yeah!” Give them a year or two and they will be coming at you with the latest Gucci marker firing faster than the speed of light. At the end of play Enigma were too good taking first place to Fallout.

I must thank all the teams for competing and doing it fairly. I am glad to say SAPPA tourneys have a good reputation for fair play. You very rarely see ‘on field’ arguments and dummy spits that can sometimes plague the large interstate tournaments. I witnessed an incident where a player received a couple of shots in the back just after he was eliminated. A few course words were spoken but after the game both players took the time to have a small chat and clear any animosity. I was very pleased that ‘chat’ happened and I think this is one of the reasons why we have a great Association.
You would have all heard my thanks at the presentation but I would like to reiterate. Scott, Laurence and all the team at ‘Adrenalin Paintball Sportz’ for the hard work put into the structure of the safety area and the field. Team Eclipse for refereeing and field set up. Renae – chrono cop. Pete Spencer from ‘Pro Paintball’ for suppling some extra sup air pieces, the mobile paintball shop and prizes. Thanks to the committee for all the behind the scenes action. BTW all bottles will be inspected on the day. Make sure your bottle is in test. ie, inside 3 years of the test date stamped on the bottle. Due to insurance and safety we cannot let expired bottles on the field. Also all bottles must be fitted with a neoprene bottle cover, once again, no bottle cover, no play!

As a rule yes, although not quite as volatile as high pressure air SAPPA can't run the risk of any bottles getting chipped and rupturing. If you don't have one, i'm sure Scott from Adrenalin may lend you a cover from one of his rental markers.

Yes Indeed CDG i was there today having a nosey. The Grass is green and mowed! There will be a little bit of gravel still on the northern end but the rest of the field is looking great. Permanent newly designed partitioned dead boxes will make reffing easier. Fully enclosed "on field" safety area. On field reff tent. Bigger safety area with gravel underfoot to stop the dust storm. Bigger better High Pressure Air compresser supplied by Aust Paintball Games Supplies (Thanks Martin) :thumbsup: working in tandem with Scott's system will mean constant 4000+ PSI fills. Hopefully some of our sponsors will have some of there new trick products to sell inside the admin area.
I have been working hard to get Dairy Farmers on board to help the event by suppling some of there great new energy drink "Dare Coffee Shots" and possibly a marquee. If i'm really lucky the "Dare" Tonka truck may rock up with a bevvy of cold drinks and lovely lasses. :clap:

So it's all systems go for a great tourney.

Remember they are holding the E-Banc Cup.
