Gday guys ,I need to get hold of an appropriate digital scale for refilling 20 0z co2 bottles is there any stores in Australia that sell decent scales for this purpose. The only one I found was as Premium Paintball Supplies for $85.00! and takes 3 weeks to order in,I see some digtal scales on the Aussie ebay that mesure in ounces for like $ 30.00 I think it was? but are not the hanging type as is the norm for paintball scales, but are the flat bench type.I wonder If these would be good enough?

The best place to find hanging type digital scales is from fishing tackle shops. Thats where I get mine from.

You should come fishing with me, we measure our fish in pounds.

But seriously... I bought my digital scales from bunnings hardware, flat bench type, been using them for three years.

Make sure you zero your scales with an empty bottle connected to your fill station.

Funny, I weigh my bottles in pounds too. 20 ounces = 1 pound 4 ounces.

I meant to say the scales on ebay measured in pounds,(NOT) ounces as I first stated (derrh) , on your info I think I will have a look in Bunnings this week and see how much their scales are?.If they have any in the local Bunnings that is ?,I take it its best to only put 19 0z into the 20 oz bottle as I have heard from others? to avoid the fright/hassle of the burst valve going bye, bye.

you can fill a CO2 to its correct capacity you just have to be more carefull if its likely to get very hot.
CO2 is very thermally reactive so the pressure goes up with the temp, if the tank is not new then there is a chance that it does not have the correct burst disk installed most of the new tanks I see have 3k disks

Most scales will have grams also, 20oz = 566grams. (thats what I use).
Remember to weigh your empty bottle.

Thanks for the help guys!!,I looked/asked in BUNNINGS today but no luck with scales I think I will opt for some fish scales from ebay and just convert the ounces to grams+ fill 19 oz just to be sure and to get the EMPTY weight of the bottle before commencing the filling. thanks again

don't be too fussed with the accuracy of the fill of the tank. If you over fill the tanks they will be fine they are tested to take a crap load of gas. You can always just fill without using scales although this isn't recommended, just fill the tank til you can hear a slight hiss that means its full and the slight hiss is were you are at the point of overfilling the tank. Also if you freeze your empty tanks before you fill them, when you fill them condensation will rise up the tank till the whole tank is wet that is another indicator that the tank is full. You can do all the above if you are wanting to fill straight away but the best thing is to get a set of scales. You shouldn't blow your head off but always be careful, the dump valve will go before the tank does.
