just a thought after reading your update on the for sale rules and seeing a heap of spam edits...
why not just delete the offending spam replies as that would cleanup the thread instead of having a whole page of ---SPAM---
keep up the good work guys

By editing it they know they are in the shit. If we delete it then there is no evidence & no warning for other people
Good idea Blue, beat me to it!
I agree totally, the point of removing spam is so that the only threads visible are ones that contain value. Having half a page of posts saying "----spam----" produces the same problem
Remove the post and send them a PM saying "do it again and ill $%^* &#$^*$ $&#$^$ and your mum too" etc.
Everyone doesnt need to know there is a problem if it is being dealt with appropriately
ok i see the validity of Knackers point so if you meet half way you could do the
----SPAM--- thing then after a predetermined period delete them.
I know this is more work for you guys.... but I know you love it!!! and you are so good at it!!
;)
cheers

one other way is to make it one post only like http://www.streetcommodores.com.au/forum_3/forumdisplay.php?f=20 no replies are able to be made. only the original poster can post & edit.
its a tad harsher but no monotoring would be nessacary.
