advantage of air over c02

i feel like a real newbie asking this question, but have always wondered why is air better then c02?

air is the gas we breath and very thermally stable compared to CO2 and therefore much more consistant shot to shot. It is also far easier on gun internals.
It is easy to get and store via a scuba tank/dive shop but runs at much higher pressure so the popular fiber wrap cylinders cost alot more to buy.

CO2 is inert and thermally very unstable, runs at extremely low temperatures and not very consistant. It is harder on gun internals , for paintball it is generally contained in compressed liquid form that changes phase to a gas to power the gun hence the temperature drop.
Cylinders are cheap but to store any amount you need an account with a Gas Supplier.
of course for rental operations CO2 is the go
