Hi guys,

I just bought a DM3 lately but it seem to have a curcuit problem.... How I found out?? I have to open part by part of the marker to check for the faulty result. Last I found the problem. Every time I lock in the tank, there will be a pop from the marker then it doesnt shoot anymore after the poping sound (only one pop). Do you guys have any idea whats wrong with it???

Please advise. Thanks In advance.

Cheers

check the solenoid you might have blown that up but other than that iam not too sure

Markuss

Yes you may have over pressurized the solenoid. Your front reg that controls your bolts pressure maybe wound out to far allowing to much pressure to your bolt and solenoid causing front bolt stick. You may have to wind that reg in to decrease the pressure. You should go to www.matrixowner.com and read the tuning, troubleshooting and performance guides and you should be able to teardown, rebuild and re-tune your matrix without any problems. Or just post in that forum and the techs will be able to reply to you quite quickly.

You should reset your regulators, sounds like it's overpressurized.

ben@pbhub.de,

Considering that I'm an Idiot in markers, how do I reset my regulator??
I've done all I could but it's still the same, but what I did rectify was that it's the Trigger frame that's causing all the problem.

Let me run thru again on the problem....

The marker looks ok to me but its only when I put my tank on giving it a few twist just before it locks in there was a poping sound from the barrel..... then It doesn't work any more.... First I thought it was just the pressure from the tank, then luckily I have 2 same markers. I tried changing all the parts from the other marker to the faulty one... It works ok on the good one but it doesn't on the other. Until I finally change the Trigger the same problem happened on the good marker just like the faulty one before. Pop and there goes again.... the good one became faulty and the faulty one was alright from all the parts I had changed.

Any Ideas??? Could it be the electronic thats causing all the problems??

Please Advice Thank You...

Do you have a 03 or 04 matrix, is it an lcd or led and does it have eyes. You said that it was the grip frame that was the problem. You may have to check your front and back pulses if lcd you should set your front pulse to 12 or 14 and back pulse to 35 or 45. If you have a led you will have to change your dip switches. Get back to us and we will try and diagnose the problem for you.

Thanks Markuss,

Mine is a DM 03 with LCD..... still trying to touble shoot the thing now.....
I you can help me with this and get it started..... I owe you a big one.. But I'll have to repay you when I go Aussie...Kay??

Thank you guys very much.

Markuss

If you change to those pulses I think you should be ok.

The Bear
26-10-2004, 04:57 PM
Yes I've checked the pulse was set forward at 12, and back pulse at 35, and it's locked.

Thats the right settings then. You may have to turn down the rocket reg that has the twist dial knob on it. Twist it 1/4 of a turn to 1/2 turn inward.

The Bear
26-10-2004, 06:41 PM
Which is the rockte reg??

Markuss
26-10-2004, 09:09 PM
the reg that sits just underneath the barrel with the silver tip.

The Bear
26-10-2004, 09:41 PM
Oh... ok... Sorry about that. Thanks

I've tried that but it still doesn't work, I still think the problem comes from the machenism of the marker and maybe the circuit board or something???

The Bear
27-10-2004, 12:52 AM
I think I have solve the problem or rather I know whats wrong with my Matrix Dm03. Remember I said there was something wrong with the circuit??? I was right!! Ok... Here goes.... On the LCD right below the battery meter, there's a sign that says LR OFF, what does it mean???

If I can resolve this I think that should be the problem, but I don't know how to ON it????

I found that out from the other marker, and it doesn't seem to have that on the LCD and I switch it to LIVE and start shooting there a word saying POW but on the other faulty marker it just have this LR OFF words on it even after putting it to LIVE the sign says POW when shoot but nothing comes out. Not even a Fart???

Any Idea anyone?? Please....

It should say IR off which means that your eyes are turned off so you will run with your default front pulse and back pulse being 12 - 35. When you turn your eyes on it will only fire when a paintball is detected by the eye sensor which means you have virtually eliminated any signs of chopping. When you turn your marker to live hold down your trigger for 5 seconds or more and this will turn your eyes on or off, so 5 seconds to turn on then let go press it for another 5 seconds to turn it off . If your eyes are on and no paintball is chambered it will say no ball and you will not be able to fire unless you chamber a paintball or just turn your eyes off and you can fire as much as you want.

You should check out www.matrixowners.com and post a new thread under the tuning, troubleshooting and performance forum, they have matrix technicians on there that know the matrix like the back of their hands and should be able to diagnose the problem as quick as possible.

good work Markuss. Hope your advice is not from experience given you have only just unwrapped your new toy!

The Bear

Thank you very much Markuss, I've done what you said but it still doesn't work. I thought I solve the problem with your guidance, and your advice is greatly appreciated Thank you very much!! But the only thing is that the eye I think wont work. Remember I told you about the pop after putting in the tank?? its still there and I cant put my paintball in to test it because the bolt tip did not retract back to its normal position (blocking the eye).

I have also done as you said go to www.matrixowners.com but it says Toyota Matrix MPV owners.... Its a car website!!

But I do appreciate your help very much. once a gain Thank you Markuss. I did find all the help I needed here with you.

Cheers mate

Oops sorry Bear its www.matrixowner.com. Oops sorry about that. If the bolt has gone forward passed your eyes that is called front or forward bolt stick. That rocket reg that I was telling you about may be wound out to far causing too much air pressure into your bolt, causing it to be stuck in the forward position. The rocket reg controls the pressure that your bolt will run at, if the bolt is pressurised to much it will cause front bolt stick and can possibly blow your solenoid. You can reset your bolt pressure via your rocket reg so its so low that the bolt will bounce back off a paintball that is not properly chambered, so you won't break paint. You have to turn that rocket reg inward so that you can lower your bolts operating pressure.

Thanks Markuss,

I have registered myself in the Matrixowner.com. See if they have an answer for me or I'll probaly send the trigger frame back to Dye for inspection.

It wasn't the Rocket reg too... I'm about to give up on looking into the matter. Hope the other matrix users have the same problem so that I can rectify my faulty marker.....

For the time being I'll just you the other spear marker.

Once again thank you.

BUSTED!!...... My DM 3 is Busted!!! I've checked everything, now I know whats wrong with it. The Trigger board circuit is busted... It takes out my battery in 2 minutes mate.... I hate this!!! a brand new marker!!! Now I have to send it in to Dye for repair...

How much does it cost for a trigger in Aussie?? To cut time I'd better order it from anywhere. I have an issue here in the country on sending out markers AAARRRRRGHHGGHG I hate this......

Probably the best thing would be to email or give dye precision a call or the store or person you bought it off and explain your situation. Then if you don't get any answers contact Lindsay Elphick who is Orian on billspaintball and organise him to get you a gripframe or a new lcd board for your trix. He has a website called www.platinumpaintball.com.au

Thanks again Markuss!!!

I did mail to the technical department of Dye Matrix but haven't got any reply yet. About contacting the shop I bought it from is actually in the UK and it was during Campaign Cup last month. It was from Dye itself! Well the best I can do now is either sit and wait for Dye to come back to me or Buy another Trigger Frame or is it better to just buy the LCD board and the internal circuit?? That should cost me lesser right?? Or do they come seperately??

Thanks mate

Markuss
30-10-2004, 07:42 AM
Yes you can buy the lcd board seperately. You can also buy upgrade boards if you want like the Tadao v4 and Tadao v5 boards and also the free flow Anderson board maybe something to look at. I am in the processes of getting the Tadao v5 matrix board myself. So for a few $ more it might be worth upgrading cause you probably will later.
