Does anyone have any mods to the Hi Efficiency SP bolt kit?

I still have dwell problems, something just isn't right

its ok... i know alot more about 03 shockers than most in Australia > i need advanced mods - dwell and rof aren't my answer.

As per previous threads, i have waited until more have bought them.
at 190psi i get 253fps regardless of how high i tweak the dwell past 25 chirps it does nothing. ROF can be ripped back to 20 and its still the same.

I think it was Gav I was chatting to removed one of the bolt o rings to better effect

you should be able to adjust the dwell to about 36 chirps before no change is noticeable
sounds like you have either a board problem where the singnal to the valve is not staying on long enough or the valve itself is slow to change state
try removing the spool from the valve check and lube with dow33 lube
but if you have more knowledge than most you may of already done this
i am interested in which oring is removed from the bolt assembly and what effect it has

i have change >> after 36 chirps nothing happens

Well this occurs on both the vision and non vision board :thumbsdow

Done it :thumbsdow

lol, my knowledge only comes through having every fault known to man :emad:

It was one of the WA boys told me the bolt mod before the hookum cup !!
He left the O ring off - but you have to get the bolt out first.

Yes it came across as pompous - sorry to all !!

I was meaning I have worked on all NORMAL Smart Parts fixes and mods for 12 months on this marker. I can practically work on this marker with my eyes closed.

I am after advanced mods tried by anyone here in AU.

I have increased the solenoid timing by about 5ms by swapping out a surface mount resistor and capacitor, its a fudge solution, but this would vary depending on the individual speed of the solenoid.

try posting the same question on shockerowners .. YDNA knows everything about them and should be able to help you

Hmm yes, have chatted with him too a really good source of info, but the bolt mod was not one of them he knew.

iam putting a ndz bolt in mine...although people on shocker owners swear by the sp bolt the only person i actually know with one has heaps of probs with the front o ring getting destroyed and then it just becomes like the standard one

Id be keen to try the NDZ one, i think they are up to rev 3 now, and i have heard that they apparently reduce the amount of kick slightly.

Anyone heard of anything like this? Or any other benefits of aftermarket bolts?

Jamie_Cracker

i have heard better efficiency and you can get them in cool colours

AGGS

Yeah i know that for certain, and cool colours really matter when the bolt is inside the marker

Quiet you, your opinion is not valid :p

The only reason id change the bolt is if there were some other benefits like less kick, less noise etc. Better air consumption isnt a priority for me at the moment cos im not running out of air before then end of a full game

03 Shocker Low Pressure Firing Canhttp://www.newdesignz.com/Shocker_5.htm

you can just buy the skeletonised firing can itself apparently.
They say a possible 200+ more shots, i think I'd just buy the whole 3rd gen bolt kit.

Hmmmm you might be onto something here boss, good work

The lower pressure means that its easier on brittle paint right? Will it also mean quieter operation?

Hmm the shocker is quiet now!... Trents Naughty Dog Timmy sounds like a cannon next to it.

Is it Gav or Wayno who has the red 03 shocker with lpr ?

Lowering the pressure, lowers the kick only slightly... yes, but you have to work to find that sweet spot between psi, dwell and ROF.

but with lower pressure,, any leaks etc cause a a greater variation in velocity.

Gav has the Shocker...Wayno an Angel man..yeah Hideous's Shocker is ultra quiet..Trent intimidator is louder than anything...even clunking Spyders ! Wait what am i saying it is a Spyder he he he

I agree, if they were to bring out a Gen 3 Shocker with all theses extra's we'd be looking at a sweet marker.

All these mods are mechanical though, with a Tadao or Anderson or WAS board we could really tweak the maker's electronics.
Apparently the Nerve board fits as well.

Jamie_Cracker
12-10-2004, 06:33 PM
yeah the nerve boards are interchangable with the shockers

i want to change my bolt in my 04 shocker, out of the stinger bolt and turbocharger bolt kit, does any one know which of the two is better???

I can't comment, the SP Turbo Version is better than the NDZ version 1 ( fast but leaks) & version 2 (efficiency but poor ROF) i have.

Mikes sells Version 3's.

Deadeye

how does the bolt make the marker slower? is it heavier?

Hideous

The version 3 is lighter because of the CAN being skeletonised, this gives a slighter greater volume and flow to the bolt.

The bolts are identical in operation>>> so it devolves down to who has the best quality control.

www.fallout.com.au/images/equipment_odds/HighEffBolt25.gif

So.. if you have a SP HiEff/Turbo bolt..alll you will need is a new Can from NDZ to have a Stinger bolt>> which will be offerred obviously
