Can anyone tell me what the Nerve spec's are ?
Only part i can recognise is the SP grip frame.

you can have a look at www.NerveOwners.com they have lots of detailed pics and how-it-works stuff. ...
or just wait a week and action will have 3 of them ... look for some reviews on www.splatterfactor.net by one of Australia's most experenced Airsmiths ...

Have you played around with the rebound settings? Isn't it just like the old shocker turbo modes? Like, start shooting at 3bps and it goes to full max. SP must have known about the changes in NXL rules well before they happend.
Whitey
19-09-2004, 08:02 PM
Well since they have been around pretty much since day dot they probably do have a good feel where everything is going.

yep the rebound settings are 11bps down to 7 .... meaning if you set it on the lowest rebound you have to shoot 11 before it goes flat stick and on the highest you only have to maintain 7 to get max bps ... and max bps is FARKING FAST
tap tap tap tap = brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
look for a full review and pic's and vids on www.splatterfactor.net later this week

so it is illegal under australian weapons laws then????? you saying it goes full auto.....must be
No dude, with bounce off they are proper semi auto and fully legit, and still bloody fast. Plus they are so light! Oh yeah and sexy too.
p.s. I have shot a Borg with the eye turned off, as they say, those in glass houses..............

I never said it went full auto .. I said it cycled at max ROF ... you still have to pull the trig ...
but thanks for being a tool about it

That is correct blobby, definately not full auto.
Blobby
20-09-2004, 12:38 PM
so explain to me fully what is the rebound thingy?????
Rebound is the new sneaky term for ramping from what i understand
Electrofunkster
20-09-2004, 12:43 PM
its like the turbo mode for old shockers and bushies ... if you maintain trigger pulls a second it will cycle at maximum speed .... essentaly its a RAMPING mode ... if you maintain a certain bps it will add shots till its going a max speed ...
Blobby
20-09-2004, 12:45 PM
so then it is illegal under nppl rules that wil be used in masters.....?????
Deadeye
20-09-2004, 12:49 PM
a bit different actually
Rebound is when you hit a certain bps(7-11) the marker will start to lower its debounce, and the faster you go the lower the debounce I think or it might just go straight to debounce 1 etc, yeah so can get it cycling near full speed.
Ramping when it straight up adds shots as you shoot faster.
We shot a Joy Fly at Hookem and had it cycling at 31cps in demo mode..the Angel Air couldn't come close to keeping up even! It wont do this with paint though.
Blobby
20-09-2004, 12:56 PM
i heard a few markers got pulled on the weekend at hookem for bounce ect...anyone got news on this??
Electrofunkster
20-09-2004, 01:04 PM

YES it is illegal and if anyone brings one to the masters it will be checked that it is in full semi mode and no rebound is inabled ...
Deadeye
20-09-2004, 01:04 PM
yep, we got a few people to back their triggers off early in the day. The owners were cool and back their trigger pulls off and fixed it up in all cases.
There was a Alias Timmy, an ICD Freestyle which got put away because the user couldn't make it stop bouncing, a Borg, and I think 1 or 2 others but cant remember what they were.

The level of play was good enough that it didn't really effect the overall outcome. I saw electrocockers shaking themselves to bits with fast fingered players.
I can't wait to try a Nerve.
Wonder if there will be a "Special" on for the Masters ???? : :bigparty:

Yes yes i have heard it before !
Your Cyborg needs testing before and after games. Did you try that dip switch mod to hide the debounce settings ? With the stripped reg as a "gas through" you can adjust your velocity mid game.
So how many Nerves are here in AU ?

You do realise Mike that we need another "Safety Efficiency Test" video  from a 68/3000 psi tank

So .. Nerve gas efficiency.
Its been a few weeks since Mike released them.
1. how many balls from 68/3000 psi fill ?
2. how many balls from a 68/4500 psi fill ?
Is there a greater gas loss through extreme rapid fire ?
I noticed the 03 shocker drops ~100 rds less when I fan the trigger at high ROF

Same internals as an imp pretty much so 'probably':
1. 1000
2. 1500
and most guns have a slight decrease in efficency at high rof

no way much better efficency than a Shocker..Shockers are probably 600 off a 68/3000 i think.

its still only first generation iam sure that they will come up with some stuff to fix the gas effic prob
Deadeye
11-10-2004, 03:58 PM
1000 from a 68/3000 is actually average to good not poor. If youve got a 4500psi fill thast 1500 shots and your not likely to shoot that much. Like the most efficenct markers out there get say 2000, and the worst 600-800odd so 1500's not bad even for a backman.

Very true, but as we both know using (3000psi) 5pods + hopper is becoming common in a tight game. I'd carry more pods but with no gas.,... no point.
The issue will decrease as 4500psi fills become the norm... but 3000psi fills are still more common cos they put less stress on the compressor.
Second generation Nerves be awhile yet.
My madam will have found my $$$ stash by then and bought curtains or soft furnishings = no Nerve

Damn those soft furnishings :fu:
I got to have a look at the nerves on the weekend. Very nice to hold, id almost go as far as to say maybe even more comfy than a Shocker ( ) but the shocker isnt as high and still is the all round package and is probably a bit more balanced for my taste
Deadeye
11-10-2004, 04:30 PM
just only play big tournaments with 4500psi fills then and you'll be sweet:) who cares if you run out of air as long as you look good with your new marker thast all that matters

in the interests of not loosing another player to the pathetic ploy or other cocker owners to take over the world with there porly timed slow shooting cockups I have found some settings of pro players using nerves in the states and there changes to efficency.
With the following settings I shot 1,750 shots at 270 FPS off a 3500 fill with a 88/5000 pmi tank. (after the 1,750 I had 200 psi left in the tank)
Dwell-- 30 (5 below stock)
ROF-- 5
Rebound-- 2
Tank input-- 800 psi
Vert max flo-- 220 ( number reflected on the guage)
--------------------------------------------------
Dewll: 9
Recharge: 25
Rebound:5
Tank (inline max-flo) Pressure: 550
Reg (vert max-flo) Pressure: 260
FPS: 285
My son and I both have these setting and we got 7 pods and a hopper using 2500psi from a 68ci/4500 tank.
As I figure, these setting would get approx 2200 shots at these settings.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Recharge Rate - Bottom out
Dwell - 25
In Line Max - 240
Tank OP - 400
Rebound - 5
Results = 16-17 pods plus hopper off 88/4500
---------------------------------------------
hope this helps in your quest to find the right GAT for you hid ... and a hint .. its not a cocker !!!
