Night games are 12 hrs long.

As for the prices, I have a feeling we'll be seeing the Devil throwing snowballs before you'll see NPF dropping it's prices.:thumbsdow

what do they charge?

A: Too friggin much.
A: Who cares?

Ben, you only get your $12/100 balls if you pay for them ahead of time. Any that you buy on the day are $14/100 balls.

Consider that you are going to be there for at least a good 6 to 8 hours. Consider whether or not you can afford to be there for that long.

Dude, come out to the Team America big game. It may be a bit more expensive if you're not a spec ops member, but even then it's going to be a lot cheaper than NPF, and if Red Dawn was any indication, it will be intense, but awesome fun as well.

Ben

$500 would be some guys yearly budget for paint.... thats crazy prices. Good luck to those who can afford to play at those prices.

I have to agree here guys.

There was a legitimate question asked at the beginnning of this thread, and it was responded to in a legitimate way.

There are those amongst us who firmly believe that the ONLY thing keeping us from attending these games is that the prices are way out of our league. If you take this as field bashing, then that is your perogative, and you are completely entitled to think along these lines.

However, it would be fantastic to see that more people could afford to go, as I, and quite a few of the other contributors to this thread, believe that this is the sole reason these events aren't more favourably patronised, and patronised by those who love to play the game on a regular and return basis.

If we cannot afford to attend, then what are we to think other than that we are meant to understand that we won't go if the prices are deliberately pushed too far above the competitor's rate(s)??

I believe that they should look at this very VERY seriously, and question whether or not it is intelligent to continue charging so much for paint when they are turning away a large portion of what could possibly be a return market, and a bankable base of patrons.

I just don't get it...

regular paintball players with own gear to lay night game.....15
newbies hiring all gear and not played before but likely to come back to same field agian if enjoyment met....100
paint priced at same a competitor field...80 bucks abox by 115 =$9200
paint priced as is at $240 box by 100 = $24000

as a former field op...i know who i want at my field

Hornet Driver

Capitalism. Nice.

I understand your point of view entirely, and cannot disagree with the merits of the argument, however...

You need to focus on one point you have made.
..."If enjoyment met..."

That, sir, is the $64m question.

BJM

The paint prices there are the only thing stopping me from going... night games would be awesome! That being said I don't support the venue because the prices are EXTREMELY high, and until they come down to a point where they are affordable for me, I won't go, nor support the field.

If you're on Bills, you obviously have a keen interest in paintball and you've taken the next step to become more active in the sport. I'm not gonna blow your skirt up with bullshit, i'll tell you how it is.

Charging those kinds of prices is fine when you are charging the ordinary punter who plays once every 2-3 years. A field needs to in order to stay alive, however when a field decides to put on a special game, (such as a 12 hour scenario, etc) and you want regular players to come out, you need to look at what the competition is charging, and charge accordingly. If field A is charging $100 a box, and field B is charging $240, who are you (as a consumer) going to support ?? Once a customer finds out that they are paying 2 1/2 times more than at another field, how happy are they going to be ??

There seems to be about 30 Spec Ops members who show up consistantly at normal bushball days each month, and that number keeps growing. Why ?? Because Gav has kept prices reasonable, so players keep coming back.

I know the fields at NPF reasonably well, and if prices were significantly reduced for their special events, I don't doubt that they would have no trouble having 100 + people running around on the day/night. If the prices at NPF were in-line with Samford, I for one would go to a night game. I also believe that there are many on here who share my opinion on this. Having different fields to play on would be great, and offer some nice variety. I for one have a limited budget, and being able to buy a box of paint for $ 100 allows me to play a bit more often, well I will play a bit more often once work settles down to a routine.

Greetings all, glad to be aboard a great forum, some excellent info and resources available. To anyone out at the NPF 12 hour, thanks for contributing to an awesome day!

Cambo, I can't remember off the top of my head who won the 2nd game? (I think I was too busy wiping the paint off myself in the deadbox:o ) But you missed out on some great playing after you left, rescuing the POW was definately a highlight!

I too agree the prices are a touch higher than competing fields, but I always have a great time down there.
To add to the excitement, my friend had a suspected snake bite which turned out to be an elusive brown snake (he generously passed on the 1500+ remaining rounds) so that was interesting.

But thanks again to all who played, hope to be running from you all quite soon

Well I have finally done it and started to look at Bills Paintball.
I have been involved in the paintball industry now for over 13 years as a player, a field owner, an importer and a supplier...I see that nothing has changes much in terms of the bagging and misinformation being dealt out by so many players. Somethings never change!

Don't get me wrong: I welcome contructive criticism but draw the line when some of you make statements without the proper facts, which I know you will never have because you hide behind your tags and don't have the integrity to ask me or one of my staff personally.

If you took the time to contact our staff at Strategic Sports Shop and got the correct information, you would see that you have been misinformed.

NPF was one of the first fields to offer membership to social players (not for tournament players but for those who wanted to play more than once or twice a year). These players can play with our standard bookings without the worry of being lit up some person with a electro marker and wiping them off the field. Thsee players are not restricted to play only on certain fields and against only other members. They can play all over NPF in our standard sessions. Yes they pay $12.00 per hundred to play on those days. This is designed to protect the novice players getting the crap shot ot of them by some member with 2000 rds of paint and a huge price advantage.

Members have their own designated training and members' days once a month. They learn how to play better paintball and enjoy a level of play a lot different to a normal social day. The cost for paint then is $110.00 a box of 2000 quality Proto Paintballs (Just ask the players who shot it at the last Super Sevens!) This price also applies to the Night Games and Scenario days and any Special Events. If the member purchases paint on a night game it is still $110.00 a box. We do not restrict our Night Games or Senario daya to member only. We offer them to everyone. The non members can purchase paint on these days for $14.00 per 100 on the day or pre purchase for $12.00 before.

Membership at NPF is $75 for the first year and $55 for each year after that on renewal.

For Tournament players wishing to use our team training facilities please contact me for rates and services.

If anyone requires any additional information feel free to contact me personally or one of my staff at the Strategic Sports shop on 07 3891 5366 or drop in at Shop 1, 16 Nile St Woollooongabba.

I will publicly state that I am very very very happy to see that NPF is now selling paint by the box.

I will also publicly state that the quality of the Proto paintballs is top notch. It would compare with anything else that is in the same price range.

Good to see.
