as you all know presets cant be removed from the bottle like a max flo or conquest.
so how do you fly with a preset?
do you remove the fill nipple? or gauge?

just make sure you empty it and when they ask just push the nipple down and they should be satisfied

I swap my pure energy pre-set from one bottle to another all of the time, what is the reason for not un-screwing them?
This ignorent fool realy would like to know please.

All preset air systems are supposed to secured with loctite or a similar product so as when you screw it off your dumpy the bottle won't screw off the reg and cause you to have a bottle rocket that can and has killed several people around the world. If you are playing with an unsecured preset air system you are a danger to yourself and others around you. (i'm not having a go at you personally BIG ROB) i'm just answering your question.

I had a classic last week at the post office..
Took my cylinder in to be posted back to mac-dev so they can give me certification on my cylinder..
I had the AA reg off - the cylinder sitting on the counter..
The Rag head at the counter picks up the cylinder - and in his best indian voice says -( while poking his finger inside the opening.. )
" What is this you would be liking to send today ? "
I said " Its a cylinder, it holds compressed AIR - It is discharged - the regulator has been removed "
To which he replies, " Is there anything in this cylinder "
So I thought I'd pull his leg and take the piss because he wasn't obviously paying any attention.
I said " Yes, it has AIR in it " with a smile
He replies, " Do you know sir, that you cannot be sending cylinders with air in them via the post "
So I replied " Well, does that apply to the air in the box.. "
He was confused and went off to get the supervisor.. by now ( about 10 minutes ) theres a couple of people smiling because they knew what was going on, and finally I said to the supervisor " Mate, its no different to sending a milk carton.. there is no possible way it can hold anything higher than normal atmospheric pressure " and pointed to the hole in the top of the cylinder..
They finally put the sticker on it and let it go..
What a bunch of tools, I hope the government isnt that bad.. God, wish I'd had someone taping it, it could make for great entertainment..

Ok thanks for clearing that up, I thought there may have been damage to the reg in some way if you sepparated them (couldn't for the life of me see how). So what you are saying is you should lock tite the reg back into place if you do take them apart.

No, John was right, except with HP air the pressure is just a hell of a lot more.
The easiest way to be sure guys is to do the following.
1. Empty all the air out of your system. The pin should be able to be depressed easily and nothing comes out.
2. double check that you have done the above.
3. check again.
4. once you are positive that your system is empty simply remove the fill nipple. Now there is no way air can be stored in the system until that is, you put it back on.

Am putting together a HPA bottle soon out of a seperate Bottle and preset,
when attatching the new preset do you simply put locktite on the thread and allow to dry before gasing up?
how much locktite on the thread and any other securing methods?
dont want to find out the hard way
any feedback would be great

All you have to do is to place a small amount of loctite to the first couple of threads and screw your reg into the bottle, if you can get a spanner or shifter onto the reg and give it a tighten that will help also. Let it sit for a day and then use it.

It s just to make sure that when you unscrew it,the bottle doesnt come off the reg as it all unwinds the same way

And always watch what you are doing. if the bottle starts to turn and the reg doesn't, stop turning it.
