Can anyone ,who is using them , as field rentals, tell me how reliable they are and how much maintenence is required. Prefer answers from non MacDev associated people.
Is back up from the manufacturer good or indifferent?
Are there better value imports available?

Thanks for help.

ok... They have Dragun eltro grips (if your looking at the eltro one)...

On the non eltro they seem to go through a lot of sears and always having losing pins...

They leak at the hand grip constantly (where the bottom line connects to the hand grip and were the hand grip meets the body)...

For a bolt with 4 O rings there is a fair bit of blow back through feed neck pushing balls back up the neck...

um.. they come in a lovely shade of black.

oh... the feed necks barely fit any modern hopper (I believe this should be a defective part and if people send their neck back in it should be replaced by the good people MacDev at the cost of the freight)

um... I would recommend a Draguns through Action Paintball over a hurricane for field or entery level marker.

Backup will change due to how much you winge...
Spyders will make a great feild rental.
The best hurricanes are the first batch with the ESP Spyder eltro frame which are rare as hen's teeth. They really were pretty good. Shame ...

>They leak at the hand grip constantly

I've heard this is a common occurrence - it happened to me on the w/e for the first time. I've owned it for about 8 months now, but I guess I look after it more than say a field person would. ;)

I certainly agree about the feed neck ... I'm going thru a truckload of gaff tape.

the feed neck was made to fit vl200 hoppers the fields use...and they fit very nicely.......

I would have to agree with everything Hellspawn has said about the Hurricane. Especially the oring in the front grip...have had to change alot of them, also the oring in the volumiser. One more thing..had a few pins that hold the trigger in come out..messy. And we use the VL200 hopper and some fit nice, some don't..that might be the neck but it might be the hopper, no biggy. Now don't get me wrong, it's just my opinion and I'm being honest..we have been using 25 of these markers for quite a while now. And keep in mind that this is from punters using them. We strip and fully clean these markers after every use and generally they are ok but like any marker they have their faults..nothings perfect.

i agree with hellspawn
ive had to deal with them at the field and i can vouch for everything he has said.
I field gun it might have been designed for but if it was i think this marker requires alot of TLC

Thanks for the help on this. Troublesome markers ,when running a field are a nightmare. Any suggestions on bog solid reliable markers appreciated. I am still leaning towards the automag.
My field development application is through council and with State government referral agencies at present.
If anyone is thinking of adding laser to their field ,I have been very happy dealing with Peter Lander of Battlefield Sports. So far his equipment is holding up well. Early days yet for a final verdict, but will give feedback to anyone that asks.

You want reliable?
Cant really go past the tippman semis....built like a tank, more so the older ones like the 68 carbines and such but the model 98s are pretty good, some plastic internals though which are prone to breakage... :hammer:
Pure mechanical spyders are pretty bullet proof too...newer plastic trigger frames are a bit odinary though.
If you can get automags cheap enough, yes, they would fit the bill, very tough gun but pretty hard on paint without the level 10 upgrade..

Hope that helps?.
Cya, Neil

The field will be at Lot 998 Richard Rd. Mango Hill ,Brisbane. Its about 4 kilometres from the Bruce Highway and about two kilometres from Anzac Parade. Its 28 k from the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
I planned to go south of thr river originally, but this place had so much going for it, it was hard to resist. ie Flat,no near neighbours, near main roads, wide block of dirt and a good school for the kids.

We currently have ample supply of Piranhas which wont shutdown in hot weather as most over and under markers tend to do.
these are running on various fields and as yet have not had a problem that could not be resolved.
we are able to supply all requirements for your field right thru to overalls.
call 0419819326 or email thru bills

How about moving this stuff to the For Sale section! :whip: :hammer: :hammer:
